The main bowl of the Abuja National Stadium was turned into a war zone at the end of regulation time by a handful of fans, who want Coach Samson Siasia sacked for failing to qualify Nigeria for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup billed for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The visiting Syli Nationale of Guinea held the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a 2–2 draw yesterday when they played their final Group B match in the qualifiers for the 2012 Nations Cup.

Angry fans could not hold back their emotions, as they hauled insults at the players, particularly Coach Siasia, who they said was the only reason Guinea pulled a draw in Nigeria.

The call for his sack, according to them, bordered on the fact that he failed the nation and therefore, should honourably throw in the towel or be forced out.

“We’re tired of Siasia and his unforgiving attitude towards his players. Even God in Heaven forgives our sins when we err. So, why can’t the coach forgive his players even when they tender apology? Who does he think he is, by the way?” they queried. Speaking further, the fans who stormed the Media Centre during the post-match conference and broke its glass door, said that Siasia’s unforgiving spirit was a sign that he does not love his job and the players.

“We want the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to sack Siasia now. He is too high-handed and holds too much grudge against his players, which is not good for the team.

“He left the best out and used players that were not in form. He kept fighters like Ike Uche, Ekigho Ehiosun and Ahmed Musa on the bench and played an Osaze that was not in form. We don’t want him again. Our football needs a breath of fresh air and not Siasia’s antagonistic nature. What manner of a coach is he when he is always at loggerheads with his key players?”

First,i must admit that while siasia has been able to find that balance btw youth and xperiance which nigerian football purists have craved for years, his heavy-handedness will prove to be his achiles heel. In a game of this magnitude, he should have fielded his best players and then amicably resolve this after securing qualification like Luis enrique did with totti at roma. he needs to be a little compromising while trying to maintain discipline, that said, the defence and midfield were too lax and once again mikel was lackadaisical in midfield ( a sharp contrast to his swashbuckling performances for chelsea) and yobo is apparently one of the world's worst defenders!. Guinea deserved to qualify ahead of Nigeria, period!
