A dismissed police inspector in Zamfara State, Abdullahi Ibrahim, will soon face court trial for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old girl at gun point in Maradun Local Government area of the state during the last Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zamfara Command, ASP Sanusi Amiru, said this in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune.
According to him, the officer was already dismissed and investigation into the case had been completed, and that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
Amiru maintained that the police would not take it lightly with any officer or policeman who abused the public trust in his responsibility of protecting lives of citizens.
The father of the rape victim, Mallam Muhammed Maradun, has persistently been pressing for the trial of the suspect to ensure justice in the case.
It will be recalled that the randy police inspector had, during the last August Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, connived with one other suspect, a civilian named Ali, also known as ‘AUGUST’ and forcefully took the victim, Aisha Bello, along with her friend, Shafa’atu, to the outskirts of the town where they raped her.

I won't be exaggerating if I said that the average Nigerian policeman/woman is under a curse. Many of them commit all kinds of atrocities daily. They travestify justice, take bribes, lie thru their teeth and gratify themselves in unimaginable ways while at it. If you have never had a personal encounter with the police in Nigeria, then you don't know a thing about living in this country. Can't count the number of times since I was in high school that the police have stolen from me, brutalized me and travestified justice to my detriment. Don't even talk about them at all.
