Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), in the April general elections, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has declared that he would not quit politics, just as he called on his supporters all over the country to prepare for 2015.

He said, “I will not quit politics until good governance and sustainable democracy is entrenched in this country”. “We should not be deceived that democracy dividends will ever come to us easily without making sacrifices and the time for proper change is 2015,’’ the former military Head of State said.
Buhari made the declaration while speaking in Kaduna yesterday at an empowerment programme initiated by Muhammad Ali representing Kawo constituency in the State Assembly.

While urging his supporters and followers to shun acts of violence, Buhari charged them to get registered by INEC, vote and safeguard their votes during elections.

He also said that though, the time was yet to come, people must always be ready to vote for credible leaders and representatives at all levels of election to bring about the de sired change. Buhari however advised politicians and public office holders to shun fraud and corruption in favour of discipline, hard work, justice, fairness and equity to get the country out of the woods.

“I honoured this invitation as part of my consultations with stakeholders on the Nigerian project. I endorsed Muhammad Ali’s empowerment initiative as our dear country is too rich to be poor,’’ he explai ned. Buhari therefore promised to grant the press a full interview on Chairman, Alhaji Musa Sheriff, described the event as the beginning of the change process envisioned by the party.

On his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Capt. Mohammed Joji (retd.) charged all the 13 CPC members in the Kaduna State Assembly to emulate Ali. Joji said not less than 1,715 persons would have benefited from similar schemes if the lawmakers ha d all introduced the prog ramme in their respective constituencies within the last nine months.
