pidehai at 17-01-2012 05:27 PM (12 years ago) (m) I did not know that Asari Dokubo is such an ethnocentrist. GEJ will be remove if he commit any offence against the constitution of Nigeria and heavens will not fall. Dokubo should not think that because the govt of GEJ settles him, then he can intimidate other Nigerians. It is only fools like Dokubo who will not see that gradual removal of oil subsidy is better than a 120% removal by the insensitve govt of GEJ. Niger-Delta Youths and Dokubo should realise that violence is not a preoccupation of only one ethnic group in Nigeria. Posted: at 17-01-2012 05:27 PM (12 years ago) | Newbie

Nigeria's problems has been down to tribal and religious differences for a long time now. Although i am a Niger Deltan from an oil producing community, i don't think i am in support of the action of Asari Dokubo. I can see reasons for his actions (he's just being a loyal brother, though it's sentimental). Does anyone remember the riots in Kaduna when Goodluck won the elections? the threats from Boko Haram? Truth be told, most of us do not like the way Jonathan is ruling us, but the a huge majority of northeners do not like Jonathan because he's a Christian and from the Niger Delta ( they showed this by their actions even before he assumed office)....let's stop the conflict, respect our differences and live in peace. One Nigeria.
True, plus corruption and the so-called leaders are playing one tribe against the other while helping themselves in the mist of uncertainty and anarchy. Posted: at 17-01-2012 05:39 PM (12 years ago) | Upcoming

You are very right, my dear sister. Truth is bitter and less refined minds will rather insult you than contribute to the debate. It has been a condition of the Nigerian Constitution right from independence that all land belongs to Nigeria and not the tribe that settles on it. Go to Iran, Saudi Arabia or even Libya the ownership of the mineral resources of those countries belong to the national government and not the tribes on those lands. It is true past governments, both federal and state have neglected Niger Delta but it is being redressed through the amnesty programme of the late Yar'adua. So, this discordant song we keep hearing some misguided minds singing about Niger Delta owing the resources of Nigeria is a confused noise of the unenlightened.
