Wonders shall never end as they say in Cameroon as CAF and FIFA published match officials for the 28th edition of the African Nations cup.
For the first time in the history of football, three Cameroonian match officials were retained for this competition. This has surprised not just Cameroonians but Africa and the world at large.
The 32years old Alioum(a chief sergeant in the Cameroon airforce),will act as the central referee,Moussa Yanoussa(a 38years old businessman in Yaoundé)will be his 1st assistant while Evariste Menkouande(a 39years old Police constable in Douala)will be his 2nd assistant.
Despite Cameroon's world known football prowess, the country has never had a full referee team designated for any international football competition. The country as at now is going trough troubled waters with its football.Recently, the national team(indomitable lions)captain Samuel Eto'o was infliged an 8months suspension by the football association(fecafoot) for inciting rebellion within the team due to unpaid match bonuses.Eto'o is accused of spear-heading a rebellion that requested for match bonuses(783euros or 165000Naira) before a friendly match against ALgeria, offcourse, the money wasn't paid and the match wasn't played. The Algerian football federation lodged a complain to FIFA/CAf and asked for 1000000euros or 210,000,000Naira)damages from Cameroon
