President calls Boko-Haram for Dialogue!!!

  Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan challenged violent Islamist sect Boko Haram on Thursday to identify themselves and state clearly their demands as a basis for talks, while acknowledging that military confrontation alone will not end their insurgency.

In an interview with Reuters at the presidential villa in the capital Abuja, Jonathan also said there was no doubt that Boko Haram had links with other jihadist groups outside Nigeria.



"If they clearly identify themselves now and say this is the reason why we are resisting, this is the reason why we are confronting government or this is the reason why we destroy some innocent people and their properties ... then there will be a basis for dialogue," Jonathan said.

"We will dialogue, let us know your problems and we will solve your problem but if they don't identify themselves, who will you dialogue with?"

But he cautioned that the crisis would be much harder to resolve than the one in the oil rich southeastern Niger Delta, which was largely defused in 2009 under an amnesty he helped broker.

If truly the so called boko haram has something tangible to hold on to,let them come out with it so that everyone in the country will see and reason along with them.if not they should please stop all their killings and destruction of human and physical properties worth millions of naira that they are destroying.Now Mr president has giving them another chance please in the name of the God that u profess please come out and put on the table so that we all can see and reason with u people.

dialogue??this people have proved they dont have a tangible reason for what they do. one minute they tell us its because their leader was killed, the other minute they say it is d command of allah to kill infidels. countries that had experience with terrorists already warn Nigeria never to dialogue with terrorists, it only gives them more power to ask for the unthinkable. Jonathan is toooooo weak, way too weak. why wld anyone keep a terrorist with police in the first place? such pple are kept with counter-terrorist units or highly organised forces. y wld the president appoint an IG that cannot even run or carry gun(do y'all see his pot belly?) dialogue will only empower boko haram
