The police in Lagos State have arrested three policemen in connection with the dastardly killing of two men , who have been identified as drivers in a Lagos-based company.
The state Commissioner of Police, Yakubu Alkali, had directed the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigations Department to thoroughly investigate the death of the company drivers
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the policemen, who are from Igando police station, had earlier labelled the deceased drivers “armed robbers “but later claimed that they were killed by armed robbers.
The two drivers were, early on Wednesday, morning, allegedly killed by a gang of policemen, who mounted a roadblock on Lagos State University (LASU)
A source, who pleaded anonymity stated that the two drivers were riding on a motor bike to their place of work when the police team stopped them and allegedly demanded for money.
The two drivers reportedly refused to give the policemen money and instead attempted to ride off, when one of the policemen opened fire on them.
The bullet pierced through the back of the man at the passenger seat and went through the motorcycle rider, leading to the death of the passenger, while the rider was injured.
