NDLEA Arrests Teacher, 33 Others For Suspected In Gombe


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Gombe State has in the last three months arrested a secondary school teacher, and 33 other drug suspects.

Mr Aliyu Ad ole, the state Commandant of the agency,  said that a total of 33.78 kilogrammes of drugs were recovered from the suspects.

Ad ole told a news conference in Gombe on Wednesday that the teacher, aged 42, was serving at the Government Junior Secondary School, Gombe.

He said that 12 of the suspects were convicted and sent to various jail terms, while 10 were awaiting trial and two were counselled and released to their families and relations.

According to him, four others are currently undergoing counselingl while the remaining six were in the cell.

Ad ole further said that three drug suspects were also arrested with 15 kilogrammes of Cannabis Sativa on April 10, in Gombe metropolis.

He said, “It is very unfortunate for a graduate to be selling drugs even when they are gainfully employed.

“It is something to ask ourselves where the moral education is that is taught to us by our parents.”

The commandant said that the agency would charge the suspects to court very soon. (NAN)
