72  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / BREAKING: Wanted British 'White Widow' Terrorist has Been Killed In Ukraine on: 13-11-2014 01:08 AM
One of Britain's most wanted people, a British woman terrorist suspect dubbed the 'White Widow' has reportedly been killed in Ukraine. And according to the story's source, Regnum News Agency in Moscow, Samantha Lewthwaite, 30, was gunned down by a Russian sniper two weeks ago.  The News Agency said:
'One of the world's most wanted terrorists Samantha Lewthwaite who fought as part of a Ukrainian battalion has been killed by a volunteer sniper.

According to our information, the White Widow fought on the side of Ukrainian volunteer battalion Aidar as a sniper. She was killed by 'a volunteer sniper who came to
fight at the Lugansk front from Russia. The Russian sniper who killed the British terrorist now has a price of nearly one million dollars on his head from Ukrainian special services.'
DailyMail, however notes that the extraordinary unconfirmed claim came amid a welter of propaganda from Moscow and Kiev over the Ukrainian crisis. And there are suspicions that the claim that Lewthwaite is dead could be an attempt by Russia to bolster its anti-terrorism credentials at a time when it is controversially massing armour and troops in Ukraine.

Reports last month claimed Lewthwaite - a former soldier's daughter - joined Islamic State earlier this year and became one of the most powerful women in the network. Born in Northern Ireland and schooled in Aylesbury, she was not previously linked to Ukraine.

Lewthwaite was married to 7/7 suicide bomber Germaine Lindsay, 19, a Jamaican-born Yorkshireman, and allegedly left Britain in 2009 before being linked to atrocities in Africa.

She was also responsible for training a special team of female suicide bombers in Syria, it was alleged. Lewthwaite allegedly trained and mentored British converts who volunteered to fight for the IS. The 7/7 attack on the London transport network on 7 July 2005 killed 52 people.

75  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Woman Arrested After Forcing 2 Nigerian Women Into Prostitution & Eating Snakes on: 15-10-2014 08:28 PM
24 year old Lizzy Idahosa (pictured left) and her husband Jackson Omoruyi, 41 (pictured right), have been found guilty of trafficking in people after they forced two Nigerian women into prostitution by making them eat snakes in a black magic ceremony, UK Daily Mail reports.

Lizzy and Jackson, according to reports, made more than £70,000 out of the women, who were made see a witchdoctor for a sinister 'juju' ceremony.

Jackson was convicted of trafficking the women, inciting them to become prostitutes and transferring criminal property, while Lizzy was found guilty of money laundering. Both are now facing jail.

Quote
From UK Daily Mail
During the couple's trial at Cardiff Crown Court, the jury was told that the two victims, aged 23 and 29, had their pubic hair shaved and forced to eat live snakes and snails as part of the ritual, and then flown to Britain in the belief that they were going to find a better life.

However, when they arrived in the UK they were put to work as prostitutes, working in brothels at massage parlours across England and Wales.

They were told they had to give all the money they earned to Idahosa, and believed the black magic curses would make them go insane or die if they refused.

'The couple were involved in the exploitation of two women brought into the UK from Nigeria to work as prostitutes,' said Caroline Rees, prosecuting, during the trial.

'They were bound to this by something called a juju ritual. It was a ceremonial ritual used to full effect to terrify both women into doing what was demanded of them.

'It was used to ensure compliance, secrecy, and they believed if they broke the bond dire consequences would follow: illness, madness, infertility or death.
'They genuinely believed the powers would work.'

The offences came to light after police arrested a 23-year-old Nigerian woman at the Ambassador Suite brothel in Cardiff, in June 2013.
She told officers she had been living rough in Nigeria after her mother died and had wanted to travel to the UK to find her father.

She had then met a woman, claiming to be Idahosa’s sister, who promised to make arrangements for her to travel to London, and as part of the agreement had to take part in the ceremony.

'She did not know what was expected of her,' said Ms Rees, who said the woman had been able
She was taken to a premises full of women dressed in their underwear. There was no explanation as to what was going on but it soon became clear.'
The woman started to work as a prostitute and was forced to have segxwal intercourse with seven or eight men every day, working in brothels across the UK, including in Cardiff and Swansea.

When interviewed, she claimed she had given Idahosa £45,000.
The second victim told the court she had paid the defendants £31,400 over two years after working in brothels in Cardiff, Swansea, Barking and East Croydon, and said she had worked in South Wales for a year and eight months.

The woman, who like her fellow victim cannot be named for legal reasons, said she had stopped working and changed her sim card so Idahosa could not contact her.

However, within a month she received a phone call from her mother in Nigeria.
'I had a call from my mum who told me Lizzy’s people had been to her house and threatened her,' the victim told the jury.

'Lizzy said if I did not pay her she would kill my mum and make me go mad.'
Idahosa and Omoruyi, who were arrested at their home in London, denied any wrong doing.

But police checked their bank accounts and found a series of transfers with Omoruyi acting as a 'financial middle man'.

Idahosa had denied forcing the women to take part in a black magic ceremony, but claimed that she herself had been trafficked into the UK and forced to work as a prostitute.

She told the jury she did not know the two women had been trafficked.

'It was only when I told them I was trafficked into the country that I found out they were trafficked,' she said.
Idahosa, who is heavily pregnant, said she made an oath with her trafficker before leaving Nigeria and was forced to eat the roast heart of a cockerel.

She said: 'I wouldn’t do the things they say I did because I’ve been through it.'

The jury was told that cash payments of several hundred pounds a time had been deposited into Omoruyi’s account from locations all over the country, including Glasgow, Sheffield and Southampton.
76  Forum / The Buzz Central / Photos From Florence Ita Giwa's Hen Party [Ruth Osime, Ndidi Obioha....] on: 9-10-2014 08:17 PM
A couple of weeks ago, the gorgeous & extraordinarily stylish Senator Florence Ita Giwa went all the way to put together what many have come to tag as one of the wedding parties of the year, for her 2nd daughter Kokoeca Florence Mayen, who got married to her heartthrob Chimaobi Shawcross.

Some even went on further to call the party a carnival. From all we saw they weren't wrong in anyway. Apart from the traditional ceremony that was done in the bride's home state in Calabar, Cross River State, there were about 2  pre-wedding party on the same night. One was the bride's hen party, that was celebrated at a secret location, while the bride's mom, in the person of Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, hosted her own friends to what was tagged the Mother's hen party, at the Sky Lounge, Eko Hotel, Lagos. The venue has that super fantastic view of the Bar Beach/Atlantic Ocean from most probably the highest point on Eko Hotel.

According to some of those who were privileged to attend, they said it was a classy party by all standards.  Knowing the good Senator well, we are so sure she wouldn't have spared expense in anyway to make sure her guests were well taken care of.

Some of those in attendance were likes of Princess Yetunde Onilere, ever graceful Grace Egbagbe, Ireti Asemota, the short hair wearing Ruth Osime, Ndidi Obioha, ever stylish Nkiru Anumudu, Data Okorodudu, thespian of note Joke Jacobs, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, Queen Ahneva and very many others.  We even heard that there was an unofficial dancing competition, that was supposedly won hands down by Ndidi Obioha, who was clad in a beautiful all black shimmery/ leather like outfit, that showed off her structure to good effect.

From the look of things, at least from the pictures, it was obvious those in attendance had good fun.

77  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Another Set Of 60 Nigerian Soldiers To Face Trial For Mutiny on: 30-09-2014 06:35 PM
A group of Nigerian soldiers numbering 60 are to be arraigned before a General Court Martial by military authorities in Abuja on Tuesday (today) for mutiny.

The mutiny was committed when the soldiers allegedly refused to join troops in Maiduguri for “an operation” on August 4, 2014.

The Punch reports that a copy of the charge sheet filed against the 60 soldiers was retrieved on Monday.

According to the charge sheet, the soldiers, comprising two corporals, nine lance corporals and 49 privates, are to be summoned on two counts of conspiracy to commit mutiny and mutiny.

The sheet further revealed that the soldiers committed the offence at Mulai Primary School, close to African Independent Television (AIT) in Maiduguri, Borno State. It said the incident occurred on August 4, 2014 as they clearly refused to join “111 SF Bn troops” led by Col. E.A. Aladeniyi to Maimalari Barracks from where they would have proceeded for an operation.

The charge sheet further held that they “conspired to commit mutiny against the authority of 7 Division,” an offence said to be punishable under Section 91(1) of the Penal Code Cap P89 LFN 2004

79  Forum / The Buzz Central / Starboy Wizzy, Wizkid, Wows His London Fans With Stunning Performance [Photos] on: 27-09-2014 10:41 AM
Following his successful Hammersmith Apollo gig in 2012, Wizkid took to the stage again to wow his London fans. This time in North Greenwich’s Indigo2.

Smade once again pulled off a one of a kind sold out show. Host, Eddie Kadi kept the crowd laughing as Wizkid fans began to fill the Indigo2 space. Opening act, Sona warmed up the crowd and got them dancing with his breakout hits ‘Ijo Sona’, ‘Omode Yi’ and ‘No Wahala’.

Once the crowd was buzzing it was time for none other than the man the people had all been waiting for to grace the stage. Backed up by The Composers and the D3 Dancers, Wizkid hit the stage with a bang. If there was any question as to what the young superstar was going to perform being that a majority of his hits have come from collaborations over the past year or so, tonight proved that despite this fact the star is a force to be reckoned with.

Wizkid performed a string of his hits from ‘Don’t Dull’, the crowd pleasing ‘No Lele’ and the now classic ‘Tease Me/Bad Guy’, to his latest hits ‘On Top You Matter’ and ‘Jaiye Jaiye’. Wizkid even performed songs from his latest album ‘Ayo’, such as ‘Ojuelegba’ as the crowd sang along to every word.

The show wouldn’t have been complete without his collabos which included ‘Back To The Matter’, ‘Caro’ and ‘Emi Ni Baller’ to which Chidinma,  Maleek Berry and L.A.X respectively joined Wizkid on stage to screams and cheers from the crowd.

Also in attendance tonight were some of the UK’s very own shining stars such as Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder, DJ Abrantee and Krept and Konan who joined Wizkid on stage to close out the show with his mega hit single ‘Show You The Money’ as Wizkid so generously sprayed the crowd with $100 bills.

All in all, it was a night not to have been missed. Wizkid showed London that he has come a mighty long way from his ‘Holla at your Boy’ days. Despite the fact that he missed out some hits during the show, with three costume changes and a catalogue of music that had the crowd dancing from beginning to end, it was easy to forget the songs that weren’t performed.
