61  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Policeman kills wife, commits suicide on: 3-12-2009 09:42 PM
ragedy struck yesterday at the Mashimari Police Barracks when a police sergeant (names withheld) shot his wife dead and turned the gun on himself.

The policeman, attached to ‘B’ operation unit of Borno State Police Command, shot the wife with his official AK 47 rifle.

The couple were said to have been having misunderstanding over the behaviour of their son, said to be involved in theft, drug abuse and other crimes. It was gathered that whenever the father attempted to call the son to order, the mother would prevent him from taking action against him. A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the disagreement between the couple worsened last week when they engaged in a fight which attracted the attention of their neighbours.

“The persistent misunderstanding between the policeman and his wife was not a strange happening in the barracks. We are all aware that their son has questionable character, but the mother always supported and shielded him from being punished by the father. The wife was killed when she tried to shield the son from being shot by the husband who was visibly angry. On realising that he has gunned down his wife, he instantly shot himself,” the source said.

The Borno State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Isa Azare, confirmed the incident. He said the corpses had been deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital mortuary. Isa however declined to reveal the names of the couple, saying the case was being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department of the command. (NAN)

In a manner reminiscent of a popular case of a Christ Embassy member who a few years ago duped his hotelier employers and donated the money to Christ Embassy as tithe, another Christ Embassy member has replicated the fraud. Are these guys under a spell? Please read:
____________________________________________________________ ________________________________

Some female foreigners who were promised marriage by a 23 year old Nigerian posing as Jerry Finger, a British expatriate have been allegedly defrauded of over $96,000 via internet scam.

Okoro Osagie Victor who dropped out from the department of Chemical Engineering at the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo state in 2004 had his 'yahoo-yahoo' business exposed after operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested him.

Investigations revealed that Victor started his illicit business after he dropped out of the university in 2007. Before then he had worked as a bartender in two hotels in Benin City, Royal Marble Hotel and Ede Confectionaries.

EFCC said yesterday Victor donated a large share of the money he collected from his victims to his church, Christ Embassy as tithes and offerings.
When the church inquired about the source of the money, he explained he earned the money legitimately through his job.

The suspect allegedly sent a photograph of a white male to his victims mostly female Germans and Americans posing as Jerry Finger, a successful expatriate who was in Nigeria to execute a project.

He then lured them with promises of marriage and demanded for money to execute his project which he said he would refund upon completion.

Also to camouflage his criminal activities, Victor held regular jobs as an Independent Field Advisor and Multilevel Marketer for an Insurance company in Benin.

According to EFCC the suspect denied defrauding his victims, adding "they are all my friends. I didn't defraud any one. I only asked for assistance and they were willing to help."

He was petitioned to the EFCC by a regional compliance officer with Money gram International and was later arrested on October 23 in Benin.

EFCC said the suspect has been admitted to administrative bail and would soon be charged to court.

Ladies, what would you do if your boyfriend beats your male friend, not because he thinks you both got something going but that he doesn't like him and he never likes your association with him?

This same question applies to guys: what would do with your girlfriend if she gangs up with her friends to assault your female friend

EFCC storms Abia over N3.3bn scam - Goes after gov’s wife, commissioner
Lanre Adewole, Abuja
Wednesday, November 18, 2009

OPERATIVES of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been in Abia State since last week, in connection with an alleged N3.3 billion contract scam rocking the state.

http://odili.net/news/source/2009/nov/18/623.html

The commission’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, confirmed the presence of the operatives in the state, but declined comments on their mission.

It was, however, gathered from another source that the operatives were laying ambush for the wife of Governor Theodore Orji, Theresa; the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Kalu Ogbuagu and another government functionary, Mrs. Agu Vivian.

Those being sought in connection with the alleged scam were said to have gone underground when they got wind of the presence of the operatives in the state.

The alleged scam was said to have been blown into the open by an American lady, Mrs. Miranda Nwadei, who was said to be married to a Nigerian.

The American, who is said to be a contractor to the state government, reportedly petitioned the anti-corruption agency, following an alleged underhand dealing in a N3.3 billion contract given her by the state government to supply 1,500 units of Chevrolet cars.

It was gathered that after the contract was signed, the wife of the governor allegedly called her to a meeting and requested that she should assist the first family in opening a coded bank account in the United States for the purpose of transferring money from Nigeria.

The American lady was said to have rejected the proposal, reportedly saying that the American government would jail her if she did so.

From this point, the state government reportedly started dragging its feet on the execution of the contract, with a source in EFCC saying that “they had no intention of getting her to supply any car; the contract was simply to siphon public money.”

Before the contract was sealed with her, it was said that she had been made to part with N11.8 million by the commissioner of transport under the guise of making her to pay contract fee which, according to the commission source, “had no documentation”.

The contractor was also said to have imported four units of the Chevrolet car and made them available to the state government as sample, with the governor’s wife reportedly collecting three of the cars while the fourth was said to have been collected by the commissioner.

The commission’s operatives were said to have recovered the car with the commissioner, while access was said to have been denied to the three with the governor’s wife.

It was when nothing was forthcoming from the state government despite the supply of sample and payment of contract fee that the American reportedly petitioned the anti-corruption agency.

The commission is also said to be probing the text messages exchanged among the governor, his wife and the American lady over the alleged proposal made to her on the opening of the coded account as well as the car supply contract.

According to the source, “The governor’s wife and others went underground immediately they got wind of our operatives’ presence in the state. We will continue to search for them until we get them.”

Each time I cast my mind back to the yester years, I cannot help but laugh. Whenever I remember the things my mother or my father used to tell me as a child:  don't do this or this will happen. Some were truth, others superstitious, but were all for my good. Like 'don't give a child egg else he will become a thief', and many others. Now I know better and I thank them for making me who I am. What about you, what were u told as a child? Share with us here.

My Wife Parked Out Of My House
« on: Yesterday at 05:38:59 PM »

    Infact, this is hilarious.

Our wedding just turn to a year and 7months. We had a little misunderstanding and this lead to my wife immediate sister to instruct my wife to packout of my house. For 1 week she couldn,t return home, and i run to her mother to report. But all what i could hear from them is no response. They are at my wife back, But i only have his  Eldest brother which was the 1st son of the family that didn,t supported her.
Although my wife is a type that doesn,t want 2 submit to me as husband .
when we have an argurment, she will ensure that her word superseded mine and wouldn,t listen to correction.
So her 1st born came to setlle dis matter along with my parent.
During the settlement, she was abusing my parent to the extent that my parent want me to divorce her which i turned them down.
These reconcilation lead to an undertaken letter, that both parties agrees that there will not be conflict btw us again.
Factually 12days after the reconciliation meeting btw my parent and my wife eldest brother,my wife parked all her properties out of my house, including all gift presented to us at the wedding ceremony.

On these fateful day, I was prepare to go to work and i left money for her to use to cook soup. what she told me was that she will be goin to naming ceremony that she will be coming late.
But to my suprise i got home and i realised that she had parked all her property including some of my belongings too .
This is the shock of my life.
78  Forum / Politics / Nigeria records highest number of Christian pilgrims on: 17-11-2009 09:59 PM
Hmmm !!! as usual na we suppose be the holiest but na we do evil pass most other countries infact its almost unbeleivable how corrupt & terrible our society is but as u can see below its a different story
Grin Grin Grin

Nigeria is sending 20,000 pilgrims to Israel, which is this year's  highest number of Christian pilgrims in the world.

Airlifting of the pilgrims began yesterday  in Lagos, with  409 pilgrims.

Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Moshe Ram, said this during the flag-off of the programme at the Murtala Muhammed International  Airport, Lagos.

The pilgrims would be the first batch that would be airlifted from Nigeria by the Nigerian Pilgrims Christian Commission (NCPC), which would lift more pilgrims from the other zones of the country.

Senate President, David Mark, who flagged off the event on behalf of Vice President Goodluck Jonathan, warned that Nigerians should not be subjected to  gruesome security checks as if every Nigerian travelling out of the country is courier of illicit drugs. He added that the pilgrims were good citizens of the country and above all, Christians on holy pilgrimage.

He also advised the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the country and avoid anything that would tarnish the country's image. He expressed the hope that they would all return back to the country after the exercise.

Mark also advised the pigrims to dedicate their time in the holy land to prayer and spiritual introspection and not forshopping, thereby defeating the purpose of the exercise.

“Let me reiterate the point that I am sure has been raised over and over again. When you leave this soil, make sure that you come back. So many of  us were embarrassed when we hear that 50 per cent of  pilgrims absconded en route or they got to Israel and when it is time to come back they cannot find them.

“There is so much good in this country. I was on exile for five years and every blessed day of those five years, I was praying to come back to Nigeria. So please, do not abscond, make sure that you return. It is only when you come back that government would be encouraged to send many more Nigerians for pilgrimage,” he pleaded.
