Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Boko Haram Promises More Attacks ON Nigerians (Photos) + JIHAD |
on: 19-06-2011 10:56 PM
| In advanced clime, they often say'the criminal is always one step ahead of the police'.Here the criminals are ten steps ahead of the police. If we are honest what we call a police force is a group of men wearing uniforms who do not know the 'ABC' of Policing or a police force. You cannot blame them because the government of which they are a part themselves do not know the basics of government.A typical police man in any station resumes duty in the morning and the very first thing he does is carry a gun to harass ordinary civilians in cars going to earn their living under the guise of checking their vehicle papers .They totally ignore public transports(Danfo)with no lights or safety equipment(e.g fire extinguishers, etc) which are unfit for carrying decent human beings. They drive recklessly ,disobey traffic rules and kill people regularly(in accidents) without any proper investigation and prosecution. In truth the police do practically nothing else after the morning rush hour which may not end till 10a.m. or 11a.m. and continue the exercise again in the late afternoon after close of work until night. We all know how long it took the US with all its sophistication to track down Osama, how long do you expect our untrained force to track some people whose sophistication seems to be on the rise. And lets stop the nonesense of saying the public should venture information. The police must first do its own investigation, they do not have to wait for information from the public.Information from the public cannot always be relied upon. | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Waste: Jonathan's Inauguration to Cost N5 billion |
on: 24-05-2011 10:48 PM
| No wahala with spending - na money wey u get you go spend. Please just tell us publicly on inauguration day the total power generated by PHCN (as at 28th May 2011),the reason being 4 years down the line in 2015(God willing)we will ask the same question again, and we will also appreciate if you tell us the total amount spent during the period on power. The Oyinbo man says once bitten twice shy. Now that we know the likely effects of nuclear power mismanagement(the Japan experience, though through no fault of theirs) i dont think the govt. will go down that avenue of 'chopping'. | | |

| Dont bad mouth the guy,he is just an ordinary Nigerian. He just did what he sees around him everyday.Like Chik001 said its only a disciplined miind that can walk in the circumstances.Afterall there are some(or a lot) to whom much is given and in return they raise chairs, struggle for symbols of authority(mace),remove shirts to wrestle even when primary school children are visiting.

| Congratulations to the Super Falcons and all the wonderful women of Nigeria. This is not a mean feat. With a little bit of encouragement, better facilities and improved technical knowledge, they will do in another 4 years what the men will never do in another 50 years. | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Nigeria to unveil World’s largest cake |
on: 3-08-2010 12:46 AM
| Do Nigerians need this? Honestly I dont think so.This is not in their DNA. On the contrary what they earnestly desire or crave for is for their 'rulers' to become leaders. When they become visionary leaders,Nigerians can afford to buy/bake their individual cakes and then celebrate their accomplishments. | | |

| First and foremost, either Pres. GEJ was ill-adviced by the Sports Minister or not adviced at all.In either case he must 'hang his boots'-sacked for exposing the President/Nigeria to ridicule. For there to be a meaningful change in our football we need to: (1) Build 3 Football academies (lagos.abuja,P/H)fashioned after the English,Spanish and German/Italian models, and let them be managed by professionals preferably expats. from these countries. (2)Admit 11-16 year old school going kids(mandatory) and put them through a five year program. (3)Reoganise and entrench the local league with expats. running it. (4)Train match officials/coaches during the 5 year development period to international standards. Aftert the five year period we would have competent, well trained players to represent us in U-17,U-21 and Adult FIFA organised competitions. (5)Completely divorce politics from football by appointing professional football mangers to run football, let the Minister of sports have nothing to do with football and football management.
Anything short of this is 'business as usual'. | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: NIGERIA HAS GONE OUT FROM 2010 WORLD CUP |
on: 23-06-2010 01:14 AM
| As expected. This is not the fault of any player or coach. It was pre-destined. The NFF/officials who went on Jamboree to SA should now come back apologise to Shaibu Amodu, pay him all his outstandings and then dissolve themselves.Going forward, the Govt. should dismantle all the national teams and withdraw them from all international tournaments for the next 5 years.Establish 3 serious Football Academies(Lagos,P/Harcourt and Abuja) modelled after the English/Italian/Spanish models. Enroll school going kids between the ages of 10 -12 years in these Academies and reintroduce sports development in primary/secondary schools. At the end of the five years there would be available a crop of boys who would play in the first international tournament of Under 17s'.By the end of the eighth year when the oldest among them would not be more than 20 years they can easily fit into the under 21/Adult teams and take part in the 2018 world cup. This will produce educated, disciplined, physically fit players and ready to make an impact in the world of football. Anything less than this is cosmetic and will not yield the results we desire. | | |

Forum / Politics / Re: HOW CAN NIGERIA BE A BETTER PLACE?????? |
on: 15-06-2010 01:13 AM
| Dismantle the existing set-up;political parties,Zoning, etc.Redefine the so called Federation.Let all States be independent, contributing 5%- 10% of their internally generated revenue to the Federal Govt. at the center. Let States determine the type of Government they want to run- democracy, autocracy, monarchy, etc, etc.Let the states have their own police and let the army be managed/financed by the FG at the center.Any two or more states that want to form a union should be allowed to do so provided they share common borders.Let States take over the resources within their borders and territorial waters, manage them for the benefit of its people.Try this system for another 30 years(a generation) and compare it with the gains /achievements of the last 50 years and decide by States'referendum where to go from there. | | |

| There is absolutely nothing wrong with that - the man has declared his intentions,it is his fundamental human right(whether he believes in the Doctrine or not) and he has exercised it. The world and himself is waiting for the response of Nigerians at that election. | | |

| No doubt this is a wake up call. The nation needs to be sensitized more so before the next election. We cannot afford to let the ills/deprivation/degradation of the last 15 -20 years continue. For God's sake if in 50 years of trying we have not got it right, let us for want of an alternative stop ,think and do a u-turn.The world is moving on and we are sleeping. About the common saying 'na God go deliver us' -We have been praying for the last ten years or so and i know God is not deaf.He is and has been speaking to us,it is either we are not listening or be cant hear Him.In which case can you see where the problem lies. His usual responses to his creatures are;what do you have in your hand? what do you have in your house? It is only when you respond to His questions that deliverance will come. | | |

on: 17-02-2010 02:54 AM
| Kanu knows his age and how his body feels,my advice to him is to look around and behave his age. As for my dear friend Amodu, they should let the guy be.How many of us castrating him would be able to work under the conditions he does. They should pay the guy his salaries/outstandings(for God's sake the man has a family as well to take care of) and if they had allowed him a free hand as a coach he would either swim or sink and then we would justified in taking any action againt him.For the records at WOZA 2010,not even the quartet of Alex Fergusson,Gus Hiddink,Ancellotti and Carpello can make any meaningful change to the Super eagles at that tournament. These guys are not magicians their respective succcesses have been built through hardwork over time. The only thing that would improve Nigerian football is to look beyond WOZA 2010,go back to grassrooots football(including schools) and start building again.WOZA 2010 is mmerely going to be a picnic. | | |

| Whether comment or topic you can see that Wucci is pained, and understandably so.And his idea of $1 contribution is a fantastic one - this is what all good natured people and organisations should start doing.Do the right thing and set an example for the government at all levels since it is now apparent that they are bereft of ideas and dreams.Enough of churches & mosques at every street corner. What has been their impact on the people in the last twenty years? Please dont tell me there has been a positive spiritual impact,I dont think so, because the spiritual controls the physical and the physical(our development) has been at best retarded. | | |

| One school of thought says if you have tried one thing for sometime(say 49+ years) and it has not worked, you should try something else.It is highly probable that the results would be diffferent. But actually its not a gender thing...the solution lies in educating the people and building solid democratic institutions to transform the polity. | | |

on: 7-12-2009 12:38 AM
| Without a doubt,Nigeria is blessed with oil,but the blessings(positive good things made manifest)of oil are what is lacking.Having oil in itself (like almost every resource on this earth) is not what matters but what you use it to achieve. | | | |
