70% of nigerians are currently living below poverty,is not something new.how can nigeria improve ,when the leaders are only interested on their own selfish interest huh!.all they do is to fight each other for power& wealth, without even care about it citizens.change can only start from the top (serious commitment)cuz you and i can not make a significant change no matter how we try.is a pity from a country with such huge amount of natural resources cannot even boost for anything..shame on you our leaders, imagine 102 millions living below poverty level.in other words $1 per day.hmmm LORD HAVE MERCY on the vulnerable ones.
i agree to wat u said bt u made a statement which is a total fallacy to me.."change can only start frm d top". we wont move an inch forward if we continue to hold steadfast to dis ideology. change starts from every individual. the moment each n everyone of us accept d responsibilty to be an agent of change, i bet it wont take long b4 we celebrate a new Nigeria. change starts frm u and i. it starts frm d simple step of doing wat is right, e.g voting, enlightening other pple with d slightest opportunity, efforts to earn wat we worth( not a 100L student dreaming to own a 2011 lexus car), praying for our country, be positive towards our fellow citizen e,t,c
i understand and agree with you on the issue of change coming from individuals.but i made that statement "change must come from the top"for a good reason & it get nothing to do with ideology. alright, let view it from a reality standpoint.if you,me & other good citizens of nigeria try to adapt to this so called change without the politicians partaken in it,my dear nothing i repeat nothing significant will happen cuz this bunch of fools are the core of nigeria.they are the law makers,so how can real change happen,if they don't take the initiative..huh? as for the issue of voting hmmm,i'm not yet convinced with its legitimacy.until they do so,then i'll believe that democracy does exist in nigeria.
i understand u perfectly bt in reality as u ve said, do u want to compare d action n stupidity of 1% of Nigeria's population to the effect of change powerered by 25% of d population? it may sound crazy bt trust me, d day we cease to be scared of them is d day we  r going to turn d table around. our main problem in Nigeria is we can talk, bt we cant take action

i appreciate and commend reasonable and right-on-point posters like this. this is d kind of issue we are meant to be discussing here and not some unreasonable cock n bull stories. Now that we know that our economy is fallen and not far frm shattering, what is d next move? though we have limited power over dis issue but at d same time , as election is fast approaching, it will do a lot good than harm if we all can join hands and vote most, if not all, the bad eggs out. i am fond of using the United States as en example, if anyone, as at 5 yrs ago, said a black man wld rule USA ,the most powerful country in the world, he/she wld have been stoned to death if i am not exaggerating. but alas! what happened? Change came, change won, and change is ruling. i strongly believe the same can happen in Nigeria. its all about the majority standing up to their rights...
i share the same idea with u nd u,most often pples vote has this power that can move mountain .by doing this we can now vote in pple that re really abide to law nd can make changes in our country

u are making alot of sense. that is d only weapon we have to fight this hunger striken billionaires dt call demselves government officials.

y should we have to argue among ourselves here when we have more pressing issue claiming the lives of our brothers and sisters in the north? giving our opinions abt who is right or wrong isnt going to take us anywhere, rather, we should be offering possible solutions and actions to be taken to curb these unspeakable acts. i deeply commiserate with anyone who has lost their loved ones in the hands of these animals named boko aram or whatsoever, but isnt it high time we jointly refused and prevent another attck frm occuring? is it time we all stand up to defend our fellow citizens...we cant sit here and offer opinions alone i wish we can do something....though christianity isnt knwn to be violent bt i fink it is getting to a state of....if they bring a knife to d war, let us bring a gun...

@poster, of course what do u expect b4 when majority of university students take classes and school works as secondary assignments while making money (yah**, prostitution, robbery etc) as d priority . most are not even worthy to be in d university. for some, u cant help but wonder how they passed thru waec and jamb..but the answer is not far fetched-80% of students in d uni either used macineries, private exam centers, or some kinda long leg to get there. on d other side, d govt too has a substatial part of d blame. y will they lock skools up for over 6 mnths? that is so ridiculous. wat do they expect students to be doing in d tym being? u cant imagine a graduate in english saying "daddy has went out"! it is saddening and pitiful.

I think you should listen to both sides before drawing conclusion.I was there today to register and it took me five hours to get registered because the machine keeps tripping off and take almost five minutes to come on.the laptops are so old i cant remember the year they were made.it took OBJ former president 4 hours to register because the machine was rejecting his finger prints. If INEC was sincere, they should have procured something that is modern. When the FG required that all SIM cards be registered. It didnt take a minute for the GSM networks to get us registered.whereas it is the same process INEC is using.
i never drew conclusion, i only responded to wat d poster said. bt thanks for shedding more light on dis matter. i will always remember that there is always two sides to a coin

Children of this our present generation are something else. Back in the day, people didn't think of selling their parents property until at least 10 years after their death (even me that lost my dad in 2003 and mom in 2008) cannot even think of selling land not to talk of house) but what do we see today? You'll see people whose parents are still hale and hearty attempting to sell their property while they are still alive. Some like the ignoramus in this topic will have the audacity to even ask them for the title documents. The other day, i heard some gist (i don't know if it's true) of a guy who actually told his father to LEAVE the house and go back to his own father's house (the grandfather). Imagine the ridiculousness.

This is why i am not so keen on having kids early. They turn out to be as selfish and one track minded as their mothers! ! !

Nuff said.
i quite agree with all u said except ur last sentnce. it is very unfortunate that greed and d love of money have overshadowed family ties that used to be a thing of pride in the past. the man must have given up on himself that he wld never mak it in life frm his  own sweat. i cant imagine a grown able-bodied man depending on wat his father worked for. As for ur last statement, the bible has a solution for ur fear: teach ur children in d ways of the Lord, so that when they grow up they will not depart from it. let the word of God be the foundation of ur family

I have been a staunch supporter of pastor chris for so many years and i have always defended the church when different allegations are been leveled against the man of God,His words has transformed my life and i can categorically says he is a true man of God,What happened on the 31st beats my imagination, and i have called and talked to a lot of people from the church in nigeria, in the meantime i am still not satisfied with the answers i am getting, and i feel pastor needs to come out to apologize to the world, with what the workers told me, they said he was been justified by his actions, the church has grown so much btw 2008 and now that they have to split the oregun branch into 6 other branches, they told me pastor wants every other lagos branch to stand on there own and grow there parish, but every member always wants to come to the oregun branch where pastor preaches, the capacity at the oregun branch can only admit 20,000 people on the 31st, and pastor decided that to keep other members from joining the 31st program, since its going to be streamed live everywhere, anyone who refuses to stay at his or her parish should pay 1000 naira to come to the oregun branch,i am sure the member of the church doesnt see anything bad in doing this in as much they know pastor will be there live and they can see him preach, but what the church, workers, pastor failed to understand is, 31st programs are not meant for the members of christ embassy alone, its for everyone and these are the avenue you can use to bring people in to the fold of God...

I will always support my pastor in all he does, but i totally condemn the admittance fee,he is a true man of God and this is not about following the pastor but just his preaching and what it could do to our lives,we are only human and everyone makes mistake, trust me not 1000 or 100 million will make pastor chris rich,he is way richer than most of the members combine together, and its not our offering or what we give makes him rich,he is truly blessed, and his books, rhapsody of realities alone makes him a multi millionaire,we as nigerians needs men of God who can help build our country, and instill the word of God in our hearts,i know for one i am stubborn and it will take a lot to win my heart over...his teachings have done marvelous things in my life,i havent been to the church in 2 years but i read his books and listen to his teachings.....it still bears fruit in my life.Pls let us not castigate the men of God,they are human, they need us to pray for them so they wont fall, nobody is perfect we are all trying to reach perfection...
i comment my reserve on this...but my advice for pple esp at dis present time is that we shld be very careful with the churches we attend n pastors we listen to...do not judge anyone, God knows best

i will try as much as possible not to be judgemental but all the same, the alleged act is very sacrilegious. if we havE to pay our way into nite clubs, must we pay again to enter into d presence of God? And for pastor Chris's supporters, i will say the world would have been a better place if we all put sentiments apart wen relating to issues. LET US LEARN HOW TO CALL A SPADE A SPADE!!!
