Many people don't know the benefit of sleeping as it help in losing weight and for a healthy lifestyle as a whole. In order to lose weight, you need to sleep well
and if you lack adequate hours of sleep, it can lead to weight gain.
A study carried out by the American thoracic society in 2006 revealed that women who slept five hours every night gain more weight compared to those who slept seven hours more each night.

How do they come about this result?
Leptin and Ghrelin are hormones in our body that acts as checks and control our feeling of hunger and feeling full. If we don't have adequate hours of sleep, this causes the hormones to be less in our body system, thus, leading to increase in hunger and high tendency to eat more during the day and night. 

So, less hours of sleep affects our basal metabolic rate which is the amount of calories we burn in a day when we aren't task with physical activity or doing nothing. Lack of sleep reduces this metabolic rate which try and save some energy, since you are awake for longer periods, thus this obstructs your weight loss.

In addition, cortisol levels (a stress hormone) is released in our body when we spend more hours awake. This result into more hunger feeling, more fat deposition in our body and the worst part is that, cortisol induced fat retention is concentrated around the tummy area.

Inadequate hours of sleep interferes with our body natural ability to metabolize carbs and this lead to higher insulin levels in our body, more fat storage and tummy fat.

To lose weight, you need at least seven hours of sleep every night. No late night movies because this might even leads to late night snacking.
Also, exercising at night might aid sleeping. When you work out your body at night before sleep, you are likely to sleep off a few minutes to an hour after and even sleeping longer hours(at least seven hours).

So ensure you plan your daily time well to accommodate adequate hours sleep and rest for your body and mind.

How to prepare this healthy drink
This is how you do it. Buy Garlic 100naira (it is wrapped and sold in 20naira and 50naira), buy Ginger 150naira worth, buy 1 long and large stem of Aloe Vera sold for 100 naira or less, buy a bottle of pure Lime Juice 50cl sold for 500 naira (The ladies can use pure Grape Juice or Orange Juice) and last but not least buy 50cl of pure honey sold for between 800 to 1000 naira.

Open up the Aloe Vera stem and scrape the gel into a bowl. Peel the Ginger and Garlic then put the Aloe Vera and all the Garlic and some of the Ginger into your blender first, add some Lime Juice then blend. While blending, remove the blender cover and pure the remaining Lime Juice and then add the remaining Ginger 1 by 1 until everything is in the mix and blending. Lastly, while the blending is still going on pour the honey into the mix. Leave for another 30 seconds for everything to be fully blended and mixed together.

Pour the mix into a Ragolis/Swan 1.5 litre bottle and keep refrigerated.

NOTE: If you have peeled Egusi (Melon) before, then you can peel the Garlic the same way by squeezing sideways to remove the skin or in Pidgin English....the 'kander'.

Shake before you take your shot or 3 tablespoonful every night and always keep refrigerated. Do not be bothered about the offensive odour of the Garlic and the bitter taste of the Aloe Vera. The combination of the Ginger, Lime Juice and Honey will neutralize them and you will probably wonder if the Garlic and Aloe Vera are actually in the mix. The Ginger and Honey also act as preservative to make the mix maintain its taste and potency throughout until you finish it. ENJOY LIFE AND LIVE LONG!
