Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Solution to the problem of this country - Nigeria |
on: 31-03-2011 07:27 AM
| Less than 48 hours to the general elections, this is exactly what Nigeria needs:
A leader like Moses, who refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, but was willing to go with God.
Army generals like Joshua, who knew God and could pray and shout things to pass rather than blow them to pieces with atomic energy.
A food administrator like Joseph, who knew God and had the answer to famine.
Preachers like Peter, who would not be afraid to look people in the eye and say, “Repent or perish,” and denounce their personal as well as national sins.
Mothers like Hannah, who would pray for a child that she might give him to God, rather than women who are delinquent mothers of delinquent children.
Children like Samuel, who would talk to God in the night hours.
Physicians like Luke, who could care for physical needs and introduce their patients to Jesus Christ who is a specialist in spiritual trouble.
A God like Israel’s, instead of the “naira god,” the “entertainment god,” and the “crude-oil god.”
A Saviour like Jesus, who could and would save from the uttermost to the uttermost.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA..................

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Juju Fails Bank Robber |
on: 29-01-2011 02:10 PM
| A middle-aged man, Danlami Ahmed, has been arrested by the police for attempting to rob a new generation bank in Minna, Niger State, with the aid of Juju.
Ahmed was arrested on Thursday after using Juju to beat the bank’s mechanical and human security networks to gain entry into the banking hall.
Saturday Tribune gathered that the suspect who hails from Nassarawa State but was residing in the Sauka Kahuta area of the Niger State capital, was spotted by a bank official in the bulk room packing naira notes into a ‘Ghana must go’ he had brought with him.
However, the bank member, who saw Ahmed taking the money into the bag, reportedly tapped him on the back and asked him what he was doing there.
An alarm was raised, which attracted the security men attached to the bank, leading to his (Ahmed’s) arrest.
When questioned, Ahmed, who had the charms under the dress he wore, allegedly said he had been in the business for some time and that the charm was given to him by his grandfather.
He said with the aid of the charm he had the power to disappear from anywhere and would not be seen while raiding any bank.
The suspect was later led to his Sauka Kahuta residence where the police searched the premises.
A senior police officer who preferred to remain anonymous confirmed the news saying investigations into the matter had commenced.

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / I use my earnings for my education says a 10-year-old cobbler |
on: 6-01-2011 08:31 AM
| A 10-year-old cobbler, Hameed Mojeed, has stated that he engaged in the repairs of shoes to sponsor his primary education.
Mojeed, who is a primary three pupil of Methodist Primary School, Adatan in Abeokuta, told Punch Metro that he was the first child of a broken home.
He also said that he had engaged in the trade for three years, adding that he learnt the trade when he was four years and graduated at the age of seven. He said he had been mending shoes on the major streets of Abeokuta since 2007.
He said, “I live with my paternal grandmother in Abeokuta and I repair shoes to fend for myself and sponsor my education.
“I engage in this trade during weekends and on holidays. Sometimes when I close from school, I quickly move around to repair shoes. I make between N600 and N1,200 per day, which I give to my grandmother for our upkeep.”
He said that his grandmother engaged in a menial job, washing locust beans at the river side for survival.
The cobbler, who lamented poor parental care, blamed the development on a broken marriage.
He said that his father, a trailer driver in Lagos State hardly visited him, adding that occasionally when he did, he only gave him N100 for his upkeep.
He said, “My mother, Isiwatu, has not been visiting me but whenever my father calls, he gives me N100, though not every time.”
As expected, Mojeed’s business is having a telling effect on his education as the primary three pupil said that he took 23rd position out of the 25 pupils in his class in the last term examination.
He said that he sponsored his education from his earnings as a cobbler.
Though he was not categorical on whether he was the one responsible for the feeding of his grandmother, he explained that his daily income was usually given to the woman.
Mojeed, who claimed that he learnt the trade from an uncle in the Adatan area of Abeokuta for three years, said that his grandmother asked him to do the job to make ends meet without his father’s knowledge.
“I have no shop, I always walk from one place to the other to mend shoes for people, it is when I am going home at night that I board a taxi back to my home,” Mojeed said.
Though he appeared not disturbed by his poor performance in school, he insisted that he was interested in becoming an engineer in future.
