Sorry my friend, but It is exactly this sort of thinking(?) that explains why we do not progress as a nation.

Well they should all continue.
These are unwise backward practices to still be doing in an era such as this there there is a scarcity of men even interested in marriage to begin with.
4  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Are there Igbo families in the diaspora that don't drag their inlaws to their village for marriage? on: 5-09-2018 06:54 PM

My friend and I were having this conversation in yankee and it seems like every igbo girl we have both spoken to in yankee about marriage always mentions that they have to go back to their village in naija to do trad marriage.

These are girls and guys whose families are here in the US.
So it makes very little financial sense to transport both families ($1500 - $2000 USD ticket per person) for everyone involved to go to her village in Naija just to do a wedding, when everyone needed for the wedding by both families is already here. They say it is their culture and there is nothing that can be done about it.

It seems like these sorts of unneccessary expenditures are to be expected when considering igbo girls for marriage in the US.
I don't see other cultures like yoruba having this problem. They do it where they the 2 families are.
Are there actually igbo families that don't over-do this culture thing out in the diaspora?

I fault the woman. You DO NOT willingly infect a person with AIDS and then top it off by saying "its not that bad"!!!
I can't really blame the dude. He's human and reacted the only way he felt how given the grievous deceit and undercover death sentense issued him by the wickedness of the woman.

Don't be carried away by sentiments....this was not a "good" woman...
6  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: WELCOME HOME: Israel Begins Mass Deportation Of Nigerians on: 9-09-2012 02:48 PM
Physical Israel is not God. God himself tire for them since Jesus days. If they are going to act this way, then please limit interaction with them and avoid their over-bombed country.

That they arrested the wife of a Ghanaian dignitary while she was out shopping is an obvious representation of their state of mind, having little to do with the africans hawking, chilling on the street, etc that someone mentioned before.

I find it to be just a fashion statement lately.
Especially with one trying to gain popularity in southern nigeria.

Nigger please, your ass live in Canada and pay tax in Canada. Ain't nobody wants to read all that your yin-yan sh*t

Whether anybody wants to or doesn't want to read my "yin-yan shit" is not the issue here.

You know why we don't have that problem in Canada? Because the blacks here are mostly educated folk themselves and have chosen not to be a liability to themselves, their families and their country...but assets.

I understand you may be angry because a previous generation of yours was grounded, unable to hold any land or property, but at this point in the revolution of life, blacks down there are simply just bitching that they weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Well so did 90% of the world.

I've said this before when I stumbled accross a bunch of black young men having the usual "whitey be holding us down" conversations..and I'll say it again.
There is a POWER that comes from refusing to blame anything else but yourself for your failures in life.
It instills in you that sense that, with self-improvement, your dream is within reach.
If for every thing that happens, you are blaming the white man, brown man, green man, the wind you have essentially made these things YOUR GOD.

Easiest example: It's like a morbidly obese person who has decided to get content blaming genetics for being morbidly obese.
Yeah sure you have a friend that eats whatever he/she wants and doesn't put anything on. And sure your body might be pre-disposed to put things on a little easier than others, but also if you are honest to yourself, you know that you also constantly make poor eating choices.

It is UNTIL this honesty-with-self surfaces, an acknowledgement of the fact that "I could do better than I am now to control these circumstances"....until you TAP into the power that comes from taking responsibility for where you are in life....until this is done....you will remain in the slavery brought about by blaming everything else but YOU!

To all those going into that typical default "whitey be hating, whity be holding us down" BS mode, can you not read and see that sense is being made?

If you were slaving and working your azz out to put food on your table, how would you feel if some lazy man who REFUSES to work or contribute positively to society, comes and starts taking your earnings? The very nature of it is unbiblical. Does your own culture not say "No food for lazy man?". Does bible not say "he who choses not to work, chooses not to eat". It is this same lazyman that will blow all the free money he got off you on stupid shit like rims and grillz and all that foolishness...

Omo let them put incentives in place to steer those niggas up from their slumber.
All that muscle wasted...

Isn't it funny that I actually agree with the man?

I'm tired of seeing my hard earned money paid in taxes going to a bunch of lazy, baby-mama-drama, niggas that aren't serious about life because they know at the end sha sha, somebody will give them something.

Also Tameka/Bonquiqui and all of them know that all they have to do is to keep opening their legs and popping out babies and they get income from 2 sources: the fool who wasted his seed on them(some dumb nigga), and the fools who have created this nice bed for them where their laziness can thrive (The government).

14  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: Love Torn Apart... I need help on: 2-08-2012 10:44 PM
@OP, for your peace of mind, I suggest you adopt a zero bullshit tolerance when it comes to girls, giving them no quater until they PROVE they want to be with you.

I read your story and I see your actions are governed far too much by emotions, and a negligible amount of logic.
As a man, it should be the other way round.

Some pointers for you going forward:

- Respect your time
Time is an unrenewable resource. A thing you cannot get back. At a point in your life, that ish becomes more precious than gold even. So do not waste it on shady, fruitless and selfish individuals who give you nothing but pain.

- Stop with the "No Problem"s
It's a VERY big problem if a girl agrees with you that she will do something and then FAILS. If it was you on the other end of that interaction, you can be assured that it won't be a case of "No problem". Make it a big deal as much as you need to.  Angry
If a child repeatedly does something wrong, do you tell it "No problem" all the time?

- Don't always be the one to get in touch
NEVER phone/text a girl any more than she does you. If you feel that mugu gene creeping up on you to call/text her 5 times without her having the respect to hit you back, it just means you need to have a lot more girls on your phone. Hit the lounges or parties and freshen up your phonebook with new and far-more interesting things. Your attention must be celebrated & appreciated....NOT tolerated.

- Don't be so eager to respond when she finally does
Don't be that dog that instantly starts licking his mistresses fingers the second she deems it fit to extend them to him.
Obviously she feels hungry for your attention if she out of the blue remembered to contact you now. Would be best to starve her some more. Let her texts sit for a while. Let her rings go straight to voicemail. Besides, you have other more important things doing (don't you?).

- Cut the "I can't live without you" speeches
This is just for you personally, cuz it seems your type may let it get to your head given your sensitive nature and you actually start BELIEVING that ish. EVERY girl is expendible if she cannot keep to certain boundaries.

- Keep an eye out for BALANCE
If you are the only person reaching out and trying and buying gifts in a relationship, then that really isn't a relationship at all then is it? It's slavery. Are you a slave?  Undecided Make sure the other person is as invested in it as you are. People are generally less likely to take things seriously if they got it all for free without any stress. But they will take something serious that they too have invested in considerably.

- Generally speaking, Respect yourself
No self-respecting man would have allowed anyone take them through 1/16 of what you report this silly she-thing put you through.
Feel free to ignore tramps you intend on having nothing to do with, but if you intend on making someone your long-term wahala, she has to know the rules and understand the consequences for breaking them.

.....The politicians come FROM the people and ARE the people.
Even most of you here who complain about politicians if given government post would sadly switch gears and act the same way if not worse.

I am generally not pleased after having done any sort of business with Nigerians. I myself cannot do business with my own people.
They also do this thing were they lie. They make you do a job and assure you they have the money to pay you "in faith"(they don't tell you that part). Just for you to finish it and ask for your money and they dissappear till the money comes or if you catch them are like "it is coming in Jesus name".

I don't think the Good Lord encourages you to lie to people in his name. You are essentially using his name to do 419 and you think he is pleased with your way of showing "faith"?
