PHOTOS- Indeed The End Time Is Here: 95 Year Old Gay Man Marries His 65-Year Old Gay Partner
An elderly military couple married at their veterans home the day before yesterday, Sept. 13 in the center’s first gay ceremony. 95-year-old World War II veteran, John Banvard, married his partner, 67-year-old Gerard Nadeau, who served in Vietnam. The two have been together for 20 years, but had to wait until the recent Supreme Court decision to legally tie the knot. The wedding held on Saturday at their home with few friends in attendance. They sealed it with a kiss after exchanging vows. Those who kicked against their marriage simply did not attend.

‘It was something we wanted to do for a long time’, Mr Banvard said. Their ceremony, however, wasn’t completely welcomed by the rest of the home’s residents as some of them protested, but the Facility director insisted they had a right to get married just like others do. Eric Abidal has revealed that ex-Barcelona team-mate Dani Alves offered to give him his liver prior to his transplant.

photo Eric Abidal has revealed that ex-Barcelona team-mate Dani Alves offered to give him his liver prior to his transplant.

Abidal and Alves built up a special friendship during their time at Camp Nou and the Brazilian has ditched his usual shirt number to Abidal’s old number 22 this season, as a mark of loyalty to his close companion.

But the Frenchman brought to light just how deep their friendship is when he disclosed the touching gesture made by Alves during his treatment.

“My relationship with Dani goes much further than him taking my old No.22 shirt,” Abidal told Catalunya Radio.

“When I had to undergo surgery, he offered to donate his liver.

“Of course, it’s completely out of the question because he is a professional footballer. Our relationship goes much deeper than friendship.”

The Monaco captain also brought to light attempts by Pep Guardiola to take him to Germany and join him at Bayern Munich, only for the European champions obstructed any move based on medical grounds.

“Guardiola wanted me to join him at Bayern, I won’t deny that,” confessed the 34-year-old.

“What happened is that it’s not really up to him. It’s a complicated matter and more so because of my health issues.

“Bayern’s directors and medical staff didn’t want to take that risk which I fully understand. But I understood the gesture perfectly.”

67  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / My IDEAL man...By 2013 Miss Nigeria, Ezinne on: 15-09-2013 05:11 PM
For Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Akudo, life as a beauty queen is all about working closely with the victims of segxwal violence.

In an interview, the newly crowned damsel and graduate of law from Abia State University disclosed that her decision to work with rape victims stemmed from her experience last year after her close friend fell victim.

“It was a very touching experience for me. My very good friend was raped last year and you can only imagine the trauma she went through. That made me realise how close it could get, how vulnerable we all are. It could happen to anybody including me; rape is the trending evil right now. I was there by her side all through and I watched her pass through it all. I am happy she is okay now and has gotten over the traumatic experience."

“It’s going to be a total campaign against segxwal violence in Nigeria and right now, we are at the drawing board. We are looking at talking to victims and creating awareness about segxwal violence. We will be talking to parents, their kids and all stakeholders. Because of the stigma attached to rape, we are also working on an emergency help line, which will provide counseling for victims. We’ll be talking about rape and how to avoid it,” she said.

On her saddest moment:

According to Akudo, her saddest moment since she became queen was losing her close friend who died a few weeks after she was crowned. “I lost a friend of mine a while ago. He was my campus pastor. His name was Emmanuel Akibi. It affected me a great deal because we were very close. We were friends throughout my days at Abia State University (ABSU). His death was a big shock for me,” she lamented.

Her love life:

Beauty queens are not expected to talk about their love lives on the pages of newspapers. However, Akudo painted a picture of her ideal man. “I have not lost any of my friends because of my new crown, but I want to keep issues about my love life private. I love a guy that’s passionate about serving God. Any guy that doesn’t really love God can’t love a lady. I am impressed about guys who are God fearing. I am not a fan of very fair guys. I’m down with chocolate skinned guys,” she concludes with a soft laugh.

According to reports, a female police officer was yesterday attacked and almost stripped naked by a dreaded wealthy man.

The police officer, Inspector Tochukwu Offoegbu was allegedly on duty when the the ‘big man,’ who owns a park in Onitsha, approached her, allegedly telling her that he would facilitate her removal from Onitsha as he did to one  Archibong.

She then demanded to know what she did that would warrant her removal, so he reportedly slapped her for questioning him. Eyewitness also revealed that his boys allegedly tore the female officer’s uniform, leaving her almost naked.

‘’She ran for her life into the Police post to avoid the peering eyes of the public before the Area Commander Benjamin Nwordu asked all of them to come to the area police station, Onitsha.

‘’That man cannot be arrested because last time he slapped the Commissioner of police because of park matters and so the governor closed the park and now, it is an Inspector. I fear,” the eyewitness narrated.

It was alleged that this same man slapped the Commissioner of Police last year.

69  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / WICKED:Prostitute Mother Killed Her Baby With Rat Poison In Katsina on: 15-09-2013 01:15 PM
A 4-day-old baby boy has been gruesomely murdered by his own mother who fed him with a N40 rat poison. Binta Shuaibu, 20, conspired with her friend, Hindatu Umar, 27, to commit the dastardly act in Dan Amarya village, Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State. The mother and her co-conspirator are now answering to the wicked act in police custody.

What could make a mother willfully kill her own baby? The suspect, Binta tells her story to Sunday Sun: “I was born in Layin-Ruwa, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State. I got married 11years ago and my husband, Inusa later forced me to divorce him. I have only one son, Aminu for him.

“After the divorce, I decided to go into prostitution. The money I got from prostitution is what I use to feed my father in the village. My father had divorced my mother because my mother begged him to allow me to return to my former husband, but my father rejected the advice. My father divorced my mother because of that.

“While engaged in prostitution, I suddenly had an unwanted pregnancy, which I did not terminate. I was able to conceal the pregnancy and successfully had the baby boy delivered in my room.

“The ward head, Maiunguwa in the village where I was doing prostitution had warned all prostitutes not to have unwanted pregnancy, and that anyone who got pregnant must relocate to any nearby village to deliver and care for the baby there.

“But because of the warning by village head, I was at a loss to what to do with the baby and my calling as a prostitute.

“My good friend, Hindatu Umar suggested that since we do not want to stop prostitution, we should kill the baby. We both went into the street and bought rat poison for N40 and used it to kill the baby.”

Asked how the baby was actually killed, Binta said, “It was about midnight that the act was carried out. I told my friend, Hindatu that I would not want to witness the killing of my own child.

“Hindatu was the one who fed my baby with the poison. She forced him to drink the poison. When she wanted to do it, I went into the other room and took a drug, Valium 5 and slept off. I woke up to see that my baby was dead. We wrapped the dead body with clothes.”

News of the heinous crime soon filtered out and the partners in crime were apprehended.

Binta spoke further, “Unknown to us, the ward head had heard about the news that my baby was killed. He quickly went to Danja Police Station, reported the incident and we were arrested by the police.”

In her own confession, Hindatu Umar said, “I am a prostitute. My friend, Binta delivered a baby boy and we have a law by the ward head in the village of Danja that he doesn’t want any unwanted pregnancy and that any of us prostitutes who gets pregnant should leave the village and deliver the baby in the next village.

“We still enjoy our job as prostitutes and so, we both decided to kill the baby. I suggested to her to kill the baby. We went into the street and bought local rat killer and by midnight I gave the baby the poison and he drank the poison and died instantly. I took the container and dropped it in the toilet. Later the news spread and policemen from Danja Police Station arrested us.”

Guys Always Want to Have A Taste of My Body –Says Actress Black Queen
Black Queen is one of the few actresses who are successfully working for both the Yoruba and English sides of Nollywood. She is an ex-model and well endowed, no wonder men can't just leave her alone.

Speaking on her many encounter with guys, the actress said:

"Apart from being a celebrity, men always want to have a test of my body. But I know and believe they want me because of my success, name and beauty and that has made me stick to one man who I love and respect with all my heart.

I just tell my male admirers and fans that I am not available. While some understand and let me be, others don’t. Because I don’t want to be rude, I calmly tell them to let me be.

When they become too stressful, I stop taking their calls or block them from my facebook and Whatsapp. For me, it is not a problem to handle my male admires. They have a right to ask me out after all I am still a single woman, and I also have a right to say no.

The most embarrassing thing would be when a fan said to me at an event, “Black Queen, I like your boobs, can I feel it?”

73  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / SEE What ASUU Strike Has Done To These Ladies on: 15-09-2013 11:50 AM
The lingering industrial strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities comes with a lot of cost for both students and lecturers. Two months after ASUU embarked on an industrial action, negotiations between the union and the Federal Government is still deadlocked.

“Because the devil also finds work for ideal hands, these students may be getting involved in other things that may not be good for the economy; those who are just idling about at home could cause security problems.”

Like professor and Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, Yomi Akinyeye, noted, ‘one cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs.’ In other words, one cannot achieve something without causing a few inconveniences.

According to Akinyeye, the strike will not only affect the students and the lecturers, but also the country’s economy, in the long run.

“Most of the problems that Nigeria is currently facing would have been better solved if the issues are properly addressed and the priorities set right. The academic calendar of the students has already been disrupted. This would mean the adjustment of their time table and a delay in their year of graduation. The man hours lost over this period would have to be paid for,” Akinyeye noted.

Considering the duration of the strike, which has lingered since July 1, the total sum in salary for the lecturers may run into billions of naira.

The strike also has a spiral effect on the nation’s education and economic sector, noted professor of Science and Technology Education, University of Lagos, Duro Ajeyalemi.

He stated that while the dreams of many students in their final year have invariably been put on hold, the delay in the university academic calendar will also increase the competition among candidates willing to gain admission into the universities.

These factors will also cause an increase in the number of fresh graduates in the labour market at the end of the academic year, he said.

The earlier the Federal Government resolved the matter, the better for the economy, Ajeyalemi advised.

Even students that believe in ASUU’s struggle are tired of sitting at home. An undergraduate student of the University of Lagos, Joshua Oyeniyi, wrote: “I write on behalf of the millions of dreams that are getting squashed by the day as the total shut-down of our universities persists. I write on behalf of the future of the several hundreds of thousands who have been privileged, amidst the stiff competition for admission, to grasp tertiary education but may end up worse than their disadvantaged counterparts, since they may never finish, much less finish on schedule their educational pursuits.”

He pleaded with the Federal Government to honour the 2009 agreement with ASUU so that students could return to the lecture rooms and pick up the pieces of their “scattered semesters.”

For the head of Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan, Dr. Ayobami Ojebode, the impact of the regular strike actions embarked upon by ASUU would be most felt, not only in the quality of graduates being churned out by the country’s public universities, but also by the labour market and employers of labour. Like he put it, the country has a “greedy and rabidly impatient employment system.”

77  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / LADIES: Five Men You May Fall In Love With - But Think Twice About Marrying Them on: 15-09-2013 01:44 AM
1. The One Who Never Wanted to Commit—Until He Met You.
This sounds like the dream, right? The guy who proclaimed to all that he'd never settle down with anyone ever, and then ate his words when you came along? But the problem is that no matter how wowed by you he is now, the moment things become less exciting, less overwhelmingly amazing between the two of you (and the moment will come), he is likely to have second thoughts. And that will make you feel awful. Maybe you'll sense it happening, in which case you'll probably try harder, to do whatever you can to make sure things don't get less exciting. But that's a basis for a performance, not a marriage.

You need to meet this guy, however, so that when you meet the guy you should marry you can tell the difference. The one you ought to marry will be a person who wants to be in a committed relationship and who will work with you to make your marriage strong. He won't feel he has made a mistake, or been duped, every time something between the two of you isn't perfect, because he will already know that relationships, like other true and meaningful things, operate on an axis that has nothing to do with perfect—they are messy, real, evolving things. That's what's so great about them.

2. The Guy Who Knows Everyone, I Mean, Everyone, In Town.
This is a guy who'll save you when you need to get a table at the hot, new restaurant or a contact at a company to which you're thinking of sending your resume. But be wary. This guy is always chatting on the phone—or sending emails or responding to texts—during dinners, holidays, all the times when you long for attention. Makes sense: He's responding to all those other people who need an in at that trendy restaurant or a professional contact, after all, and he's got to keep his Rolodex up-to-date; it requires constant effort. His desire to help, his sociability, these are some of his best qualities—as a friend.

3. The Funny, Charming, Sensitive Guy Who Pouts and Says "Nothing" When You Ask Him If Something's Wrong.
He's got so many wonderful qualities. So please, date him—if only because you'll learn a lot about the importance of another quality: open communication. The thing about marriage is that it's really long. You might be the greatest, most thoughtful and kind-hearted person in the world; I guarantee you are still going to occasionally piss him off.

It's easier, for all of us, to sit in silence and seethe and think self-righteously that if our partners were better people, they would know why we are mad and wouldn't have to ask. It's a lot harder to say, "I know you didn't mean it, but that joke you made in front of our friends about my slow work habits made me feel lame." Yet, so much of marriage comes down to just those moments—spitting it out, explaining what's wrong and giving your partner a chance to apologize and do better the next time. The brooding guy who punishes you with silence? After a while, you're likely to become so afraid of making him angry—and so unsure of what exactly bothers him since he never tells you—that you'll have to tiptoe around him.

4. The Guy Who Is So Good-Looking—or Wealthy or Successful—That All Your Friends Are in Awe.
Here's my advice: See what it feels like to walk into a room with him. Watch your friends' and acquaintances' eyes widen ever so slightly. Just remember, it can be hard to separate the feeling of pride and exhilaration that comes from having won the affection of someone deemed desirable from the more tender feelings that are the basis of love. Marriage is made up of so many amazing moments other than walking into rooms. Make sure the guy you marry is the guy you most want to stay up late with when it's just the two of you, the one you love being alone with at home.

5. The Earnest, Bright-Eyed Younger Man Who Adores You.
This guy not only wants to commit your every utterance to memory but also heartens you with his sweetness and solemn desire to find love. This will help you more than you know, especially on those days when the men you've dated have caused you to question whether guys even have feelings. (We all have those days.) This man will help you to feel optimistic about humanity and about yourself. But you can't get romantic with him over the long term.

Not because of his age—there's nothing wrong with walking down the aisle with someone younger—but because one-sided adoration inevitably curdles into resentment that the feeling isn't mutual. You might not even want to get romantic with him in the short term because he might feel some real feelings and what you might really like is the flattering reflection of yourself you see in his admiring gaze. By choosing to let him go, you'll have done the right thing—acting in the best interests of two connected people—which is exactly what's required when you meet the man you so, so, so need to marry.
