Investigators say that local police responded to a complaint of aggravated assault against Monroe Isadore, who allegedly pointed a gun at two people at a home on West 16th Street in Pine Bluff.
When police approached the bedroom door where Isadore was holed up, he fired one shot through the door. No one was hit.
The SWAT team was called in and negotiations with Isadore began.
The SWAT team confirmed that Isadore was armed with a handgun by inserting a camera into the bedroom through a window.
After negotiations were unsuccessful, the SWAT team pumped gas in the room from outside the bedroom window, hoping that Isadore would surrender peacefully.
Instead, Isador fired more shots at a SWAT entry team, who threw a "distraction device" into the room after breaching the door.
Isadore continued shooting at the entry team, who finally shot and killed him.
Local police said that the investigation is ongoing, but provided no further details.
SWAT* - "Special Weapons And Tactics" is a commonly used proper name for law enforcement units, which use military-style light weapons and specialized tactics in high-risk operations that fall outside of the capabilities of regular, uniformed police.

The Borno State government are planning to demolish at least 20 churches and christian schools in Maiduguri after acquiring land they say they want to use for a 1000-unit housing estate.

Demolition notice has been served to the present occupants of the acquired land, which includes owners of farmlands and several churches and schools built by churches. The state government have already dispatched a notice to the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN)

Some people feel like the government isn't really planning to build any housing estate, just looking for an excuse to destroy the churches and private schools, with the alleged grand plan of gradually islamising the state as part of an alleged wider plan to Islamise the northern part of Nigeria.


An information leaflet on the acquisition plan from the State Ministry of Lands and Survey has been released. Find it after the cut...



The leaflet, entitled Notice of Acquisition and assessment/valuation of structures on proposed site for 1000 Housing Units along Gubio Road Highway,  reads:
"I am directed to refer to you farmers and holders of structures on the proposed site for caption matter above and regret to inform you that the Executive Governor has on the power conferred on him by Section (2)b of the Land Use Act 1978 has directed through high powered committee on Construction Ref. no: HPCC/2500/HE/S/TEC/1 to notify you of his intention to acquire your farm lands and assessment/valuation of the structures on the proposed site situated along Gubio Road, Maiduguri.
"The acquisition is necessary in view of requirements of the land by the state government for overriding public interest to construct Housing Estate. The affected farmers and holders of structures are to take note and appear on site for the above exercise, please.”

Meanwhile the General Secretary of CAN , Dr. Musa Asake, has reacted to the planned demolition. He said:
“We have seen the  eviction notice from the Borno State Government. We are all Nigerians and there are other places where the State Government can develop. The areas being earmarked for demolition are already developed with churches and schools.

“We have enough problems at hand and we don’t want to add another problem. Christians have suffered enough in Borno State. If the State Government wants to destroy churches and build any Housing Estate, no Christian will see it as a sign of progress.

“As soon as we authenticate the source of that letter, we are going to reach out to the State Government to make sure that Christians don’t lose their churches and lands there. But we have no reason to doubt the source of that letter. We have suffered enough in Borno State and enough of all these things which are coming in another disguise.

“Borno State Government should reconsider that decision to demolish Churches and their properties because in Borno State, there are many vast lands. They should do that instead of going to these areas where Christians have settled for long. We are asking the Borno State Government not to try it.” Asake said.

Big Brother Africa-The Chase finalist, Elikem Kumordzie's plans to marry Pokello Nare are at an advanced stage.

Elikem, who is in the country for a five-day stay, said lobola in Zimbabwe is expensive.

"I have heard that the bride price is expensive in Zimbabwe compared to Ghana although it's not for free but cheap in my country. So far, I am saving money for lobola and plans are now at an advanced stage. I will let you know the dates when the time comes," he said.
The 24-year-old ex-housemate said Zimbabwe is full of loving people.

"I am enjoying every minute. I have been to Bulawayo and the people are just friendly like Hararians. It's like I am at home," he said.

Elikem said he entered the house with no strategy but it was love at first sight with Pokello (28).

"When I was in the house, I befriended Pokello and we began to fall in love. Our love is still the same. She is beautiful, smart and confident," he said.

He said Pokello is a "dadaba" (Ghana word) for spoiled child.

"I call her dadaba, meaning a spoiled child because she loves to be pampered a lot," he said.

Elikem said he enjoyed local food.

"I've been to Garwe Restaurant courtesy of Pokello and Herbert Huruva and his team. We ate kapenta, brown sadza (rezviyo) and madora. I loved it. Zimbabwe is rich like she used to say in the BBA house," he said.

Pokello said she was happy that Elikem was in the country as promised.

"I love him so much and we are happy together. I already met his mother and brother, can't wait to meet his sister in Ghana," she said.

The couple said it was deciding on relocation.

"We are planning to work together on some endorsements and launching our label 'Polikem' for clothing line. I need to work on my business. I am waiting for him to pay lobola so that we decide on relocation but don't worry, I will let you know sooner," she said.

Elikem's elder brother Troy, said they have already met some of Pokello's family members apart from her dad.

"We are still to meet Pokello's dad. He was tied up but other family members, we have met them and they are good people," he said.

Elikem, who could be heard saying (Ndeipi) Shona slang for how are you? was clad in camouflage shorts with matching shoes and cap during the Summer Jamboree held at the Kebab Restaurant in Newlands, Harare. Pokello and Elikem had a photo-shoot and autograph signing at the restaurant yesterday.

The duo also stole the show when they danced to popular Azonto song from Nigeria, which drove their fans wild. They are set to tour the Heroes Acre today before they leave for Ghana tomorrow.

A 16-month old baby is said to be fighting for her life after falling from the fifth floor of a block of flats. The little girl plunged around 65ft from the window of a flat in Plymouth.
The toddler was rushed to the hospital after the ugly incident which residents are still to recover from.
According to report, the incident happened around 8.30am on Saturday morning in Plymouth, Devon, and the little girl was rushed to nearby Derriford Hospital where her condition has been described as stable and might be transferred to a specialist unit in Bristol.
A resident, who did not wish to be named, said: 'It's a miracle she's survived so far, it's a long way down. 'I heard she crawled off the balcony but I'm not sure. From what I've heard, she's fighting for her life now.'
Police say the little girl sustained serious internal injuries in the huge fall, and are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
It was gathered that the little girl's mother was in the kitchen when the incident occured and she is extremely upset.

A Thai Airways plane has skidded off the runway while landing at Bangkok's main international airport, injuring 14 people.

The Airbus A330-300 was arriving from Guangzhou in China into Suvarnabhumi Airport when the incident occurred.
Thai Airways said the landing gear malfunctioned, causing the aircraft to skid. Passengers were evacuated using emergency slides.
An investigation into Sunday night's incident had begun, the airline said.
"The nose gear failed as the plane touched the runway, causing the plane to skid," the airline said in a statement.
"Sparks were noticed from the vicinity of the right landing gear near the engine; the matter is under investigation."
A total of 288 passengers and 14 crew were on the plane, the airline said. The 14 injured passengers were taken to hospital.

At an estimated 160 years of age, Dhaqabo Ebba, a retired farmer and well-known community elder from the Oromia region in Ethiopia, could be the oldest living person ever.
The Oldest Living Person Ever Found in Ethiopia!In an interview conducted by the state-run TV Oromiya and published online on Aug. 12, 2013, Ebba — who has no birth certificate to prove his exact age — says he has lived through and witnessed a transfer of power among all of the five Gadaa Oromo political parties in four rotations.
As per the Gadaa system of government, a democratic socio-political institution of the Oromo people, one Gadaa leader serves for a period of eight years.
There are five Gadaa parties within this system among which leadership rotates.
If Ebba had indeed lived through four such rotations, that makes him at least 160 years old.
The average life expectancy in Ethiopia is 60 years, according to the CIA’s World Factbook.

It would be impossible to establish Ebba’s age as birth takes place at home in rural Ethiopia and the majority of Ethiopians still do not own birth certificates.
“When Italy [first] invaded Ethiopia [in 1895], I had two wives and my son was old enough to herd cattle,” Ebba tells the reporter in Afan Oromo, the Oromo language, at his house near Dodola town.
There are no living witnesses to corroborate his story. “Not even one of my peers is alive today,” says Ebba.
However, Ebba who claims to have the largest extended family in the area has seen his great-grandchildren grow up.
And he is by far the oldest known person in the area. Ebba lives in a one-room house constructed by tightly woven bamboo poles which are intricately fastened together.
Its corrugated metal roof, clinched together with nails, covers a cleanly swept dirt floor where Ebba and neighbors were huddled together for the interview.
According to Guinness World Records, Jeanne Calment of France, who died in 1997 at 122 years and 164 days, is the oldest person with a verified age. Earlier this month, the Associated Press reported, Bolivia’s Carmelo Flores could be the world's oldest manat 123 years.

Born sometime in the 1850s, had there been better communications, Ebba would remember the Berlin Conference of 1884 that set the stage for European colonization of Africa.
Within the context of Ethiopian history, he was born before the conquest of Oromo country by Abyssinian invaders.
In his own account, Ebba has lived under the reigns of at least seven Ethiopian rulers starting from Emperor Yohannes IV to the current regime, the EPRDF.
The Oromo are Ethiopia’s single largest ethnic group, estimated at 40 percent of the total population.
Largely marginalized, they fought against all seven rulers that Eba has outlived during Ethiopia’s imperial expansion to the south from its northern highlands.

As the local journalist noted at the end the interview, given that the Oromo like many African cultures are an oral society, "each time an elder dies, a library is lost." Ebba’s is one such library from which much can still be preserved.
Hamid dhaqaboIt is indeed remarkable that Ebba's eldest son Hamid Dhaqabo could not chew Qorso — a local snack made by roasting barley seeds — while Ebba, who has his full teeth intact, had no problem doing just that.
"I can eat sugarcane [by chewing] all I want without any problem," Ebba proudly tells the reporter with a firm voice.
Locals, who acknowledge mistaking father and son, tease Hamid for aging faster than his father given his white hair and lack of teeth.
A point he begrudgingly concedes with a forced, toothless grin adding: “God took them all away.”

A Berlin man has become the first in Germany to give birth to a baby.

He identifies as male, but has a female reproductive system.
The baby boy was born on March 18th this year in a home birth, as hospitals are required to write the name of the mother in their records when a child is born.
It was delivered with the help of a midwife in the Neukölln area of Berlin.
On government records the new father, who is transgender, is registered as a man.
This makes him the first male in Germany to give birth, Berlin newspapers reported on Monday.
He reportedly became pregnant through a sperm donation.
Officially the child does not have a mother, only a father.
The case is reminiscent of transgender Thomas Beatie who has given birth to three children in the US.
Transgender people are able to give birth to children because even when a woman undergoes hormone therapy to become more physically masculine, they can retain female sex organs.

A Connecticut woman called the police and tells them that she had burned her boyfriend alive.
According to reports, she asked to be arrested during this call.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he was listed Friday in critical condition with second-degree burns over 70 percent of his body.
According to police reports, the woman called them just after midnight to say she had killed her boyfriend and would be waiting for police outside her Hartford home. The woman reportedly said: "Arrest me. I did it. I burned him alive."
Officers found the victim alive in a nearby residence.
Police charged 47-year-old Julia Rivera with assault, reckless endangerment, violation of a protective order and disorderly conduct. She was taken to a hospital after complaining of chest pains.
It was not clear if she had a lawyer.

Police say at least 10 of the 17 people reported injured at the primary school in Guilin, Guangxi province, were school children.
Witnesses told Xinhua news agency they saw a three-wheeled vehicle pull up to the school before the explosion. The cause of the explosion remains unclear.
"First, the motorcycle caught on fire and then it exploded with a huge sound that could be heard from far, far away," a witness told Xinhua news agency.
Those injured in the explosion at the Baijie primary school were taken to hospital, the news agency added.
The school has now been closed and the police are investigating the incident.
In recent years, China has seen a number of knife attacks at primary schools. As a result, many schools and kindergartens have significantly tightened security measures, correspondents say.

A 42-year-old- factory worker, Mr Sola Babarinde, has asked an Orile-Agege Customary Court  in Lagos State to dissolve his 11-year-old marriage to his wife, Nurat, because she threatened to pour acid on his new wife and is never satisfied with sex.
Babarinde had approached the court to seek dissolution of his marriage over allegations of infidelity and threat to his life by his wife.
The resident of 91, Old Otta Road, Orile-Agege in Lagos State,  told the court that his wife, Nurat, had taken to adultery, does not cook for him anymore and has an extremely high libido.
“My wife is never satisfied in bed, she asks for more even when we have gone two rounds, she behaves more like a man than a woman. Because of this, she goes out at will and comes home late at night. I have never enjoyed my union with her.
“She left me for six months and before she came back, I had taken another wife to take care of the two children she left for me,” he said.
Babarinde further alleged  that Nurat threatened to pour acid on the new wife if she refused to leave the house for her.
“I can’t accept Nurat back because she has done a lot of damage to my life. I want the court to dissolve the union and grant me custody of my children,” he said.
However, 36-year-old Nurat denied all the allegations, adding that her husband was lying just to get rid of her.
Nurat, a trader and resident of 9, Gbadamosi Street, Orile-Agege, stated that since her husband didn’t want her again, she was also ready for divorce.
She also levelled allegations against Babarinde.
She stated: “My husband married another wife while I was sick and was taken out of Lagos for treatment.
“He goes around with anything in skirt and he is always drunk whenever he comes back from work. He came here to lie against me just because he doesn’t want me again.
“I met him when he was wearing rags and now that he thinks he has something, he said he is tired of me,” she said.
The court president, Mr Joseph Adewusi, told the couple to maintain peace and adjourned the case for judgment.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has rebuked the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, for his statement on September 4, 2013, Wednesday, which said Nigeria would shut down if the Federal Government grants all the demands by the striking university lecturers.
The Union called the speech of the minister as a careless utterance and indication of his ignorance of the agreement between the FG and ASUU.
Dr. Charles Ononuju, the ASUU Zonal Coordinator, Calabar zone, made a statement in which he urged the Nigerians to disregard the minister’s point of view, while asking Mr. Maku to apologise for such unguarded comments and warned him to stop playing politics with the future of the Nigerian child.
“Nigerians should ignore the careless utterance by the Minister of Information that the country will shut down if ASUU’s demand is met. It seems the minister has not seen or read the 2009 ASUU/FG agreement.
“The country has not shut down with constant government wastages and billions of dollars being stolen. The minister should apologise to Nigerians for such unguarded comments and stop playing politics with the future of Nigerian child,” the Union stated.

This was revealed to Crime Reports during an interview with the victim, Sekinat (not real names) after the suspect was arrested by detectives from Eleyele police station. It was learnt that though the act was committed on Tuesday, August 27, Seki’s grandmother, Madam Khadijat Kolapo went to the police station on Wednesday, August 28 and narrated how her neighbour, Daisi, lured her granddaughter to his room when she went out and left the girl at home.
The elderly woman further alleged that the man stripped the girl of her cloth and defiled her, after which he gave her N5 and warned her to keep sealed lips. However, the little girl could not keep the experience and the money she earned from her seven-year-old cousin, Afusat (not real name), as she told her that Brother Tope did ashewo  (prostituted with) to her.
Immediately their grandmother returned home, Afusat told her what happened and said that they had already used the money to buy sweet.
The Divisional Police officer in charge of the station, Olawole Ayoola, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, reportedly ordered the suspect’s arrest but when interviewed, he denied the allegation, though he could not explain why he was the one pointed at among other men in the neighbourhood. When the girl was taken to a hospital for medical examination, Crime Reports learnt that the report indicated bruises in the honeypotl area though the hymen was still intact.
Narrating her experience to Crime Reports in her childish voice, Sekinat said: “I was outside and he (Daisi) came to take from our house to his room. He spread a mat on the floor, removed my pants and his trousers. He lay on me, held the thing that is used to urinate and put it in my private part. After he finished, he warned me not to tell anybody. He then gave me N5 and I used it to buy sweet.”
In an interview, the Ijebu-Ode-born suspect who disclosed that he was also a footballer, said he was surprised that the girl pointed at him.
According to him, “on the fateful day, I was at Eleyele area of the city where I normally go around 5a.m. to issue tickets to okada riders. My football club also had a match at Olubadan Stadium by 2pm. We were told to report by 1.30p.m. So, at noon, I went home on my bike to prepare. As I was coming, I saw some children playing with sand and one of them ran across, in front of the bike. I stopped and beat her but some bystanders said I should thank God that I didn’t hit the girl. I went home to have a shower and left for the stadium. In the evening, I went back to okada park and returned home around 9pm.
“I was surprised when the girl’s grandmother came to me on Wednesday, August 28 and held on to my shirt, saying that her granddaughter informed her that I took her in, removed her pants and put my organ in her private parts. I told her it was not true but she did not listen.”
The grandmother said she took over the care of the little girl because her mother became bedridden as a result of stroke she suffered.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, confirmed the story to Crime Reports, stating that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, for further investigation.

Ex-militant and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, stated that re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan was the only guarantee for a peaceful post-2015, and disclosed he would join the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to help Jonathan win.
 
“2015 is already a settled matter;
Goodluck Jonathan will be president in 2015. Whether they contest or they don’t contest, Goodluck Jonathan will be president,” he stated  on Sunday at a Channels Television programme Politics Today, adding that he was be ready for violence if needed.
“If they say the blood of the dogs and the baboon will be soaked in water on the street, in blood on the street, in salt water on the street, we will help them soak them in blood,” he said in response to comments made by former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari.
The latter was reported to have said in May 2012 that “If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.” Buhari said this in Hausa while addressing members of the CPC from Niger State, who paid him a courtesy visit in Kaduna. There is no crisis in PDP
Asari-Dokubo disclosed his plans to join PDP to be able to fight for Jonathan’s candidacy from the inside:
“I will declare for the PDP. We will fight, because in this battle, there is no retreat, no surrender. We will not take any prisoner of war. It will be total battle,” he added.
The activist further stated that the recent developments in PDP are far form being a crisis, and described the two former Presidents, Ibrahim Babangida and Olusegun Obasanjo, who are working towards an amicable resolution of the crisis, as “agents provocateur”, who are fueling the crisis by declaring that they do not want Jonathan to run in the 2015 elections.
He also accused them of secretly encouraging the Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido to run for President, with Rivers state governor, Chubuike Amaechi as his deputy, recalling that at a recent public function, Babangida had said that Amaechi and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, were good to run for higher offices in 2015. He added that Amaechi is “a traitor to the collective aspirations of the people of Rivers State,” and whatever situation the governor is facing he deserved it.

While out for dinner with her husband in Italy, Beyonce narrowly escaped a wardrobe malfunction when a button on her jumpsuit popped open.
As the pair arrived at the Taverna Anema e Core on the island of Capri, a button on Beyoncé's already low-cut jumpsuit popped open, causing her to nearly encounter an embarrassing faux pas.
Luckily for the star singer, she managed to notice the error before she revealed too much, quickly buttoning herself back up as Jay Z watched with concern.
Slightly embarrassed about the incident, Beyoncé was seen looking red-faced as she laughed off the narrow miss, before walking alongside her husband into the eatery.

A  Cameroon woman, Mrs  Ngala Norgu Julia, has been arrested by men of the Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, for allegedly being in  possession of a one week old  baby girl which she claimed she was delivered of by a herbalist at Okitiputa, Ondo State.

Mr Samuel Igochi, the Comptroller of  Immigration, Cross River State Command, said Ngala  who is also a lawyer, was arrested by the Intelligence and Investigation Team of the Service  at the Calabar port  while trying to smuggle the baby to Cameroon.

“She claimed a herbalist in Okitikpupa, Ondo State gave her some herbs which she took in November last year after which she got pregnant and delivered the baby but there are no signs in her that she actually delivered that baby”, Ogochi said.

According to him, a team was constituted to examine her but, after due examination,  there were no signs that she actually delivered the baby.

“Since  the 1st of  September 2013 which she gave as the date for her delivery,  her Bosom s were not able to produce  milk as is always the case with every birth which is quite unusual”, the NIS boss stated.
“She then said she paid the sum of N1.5 million to the woman who delivered her of the baby . Why such a whooping sum for just delivery which is not by Caesarean process?”.

He said the child would be handed over to the National Agency Against Trafficking in Persons, NATIP, for upkeep till the determination of the case since the NIS is not a baby factory. “Taking care of such a baby is very expensive and time demanding and since  the Nigerian Immigration Service is not equipped to handle such responsibility, we will hand over the child like the one we had two weeks ago to NAPTIP in  Uyo”

Ngala, who was accompanied by another Cameroonian lady,  Mrs Mende Cecila Fru, said she heard about the Okitipupa clinic assisting women to deliver children supernaturally and so she had to borrow money and came to Nigeria to  consult the woman and she was given herbal medicine which she took and and got pregant.

“When I heard that the woman was helping women without children to deliver babies, I borrowed money here and there and came to Nigeria  and she gave me herbal medicine and when I went back I met my partner and I became pregnant”.

According to her, out of the sum of N1.5 million she paid to the clinic  N277.000 was for the herbs to enable her become pregnant  while 1.2 million was for delivery of the baby. “She told me the delivery was supernatural, so I should not visit any orthodox medicine when I am about to deliver, that I should go to Okitipupa and truly when I got there, after nine days, she took me to a room  and delivered me of the baby”.

She said she was asked to lie on the floor while somebody exerted pressure on  her stomach  while she was asked to push and the baby came out and fell on the floor . “ The woman then  beat the child three times on the back and the child began to cry and I  was asked to stand up”.

Mrs Fru, who accompanied Ngala, on her part,  said she did not go inside the room where the baby was delivered but sat in the parlour and when she heard a baby cry, “They took me inside and I saw the child still  covered with blood and I was very happy for my friend for the successful delivery of her baby”.

Yep, these two maybe going to court because Bianca Ojukwu has rejected Femi Fani Kayode's non- apology. Femi issued a statement last week withdrawing his earlier claims that they had an 'intimate relationship' in the past but Bianca's lawyers said the retraction was not sufficient and satisfactory and have decided to go to court. Femi Fani Kayode this morning responded to Bianca's lawsuit threat, insisting that he didn't lie and threatened to reveal details of his 'relationship with her.     “The attention of Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu has been drawn to a statement purportedly issued by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode through one Mr Akinola Babatunde Rotimi and published in the Daily Sun and ThisDay Newspapers of September 6, 2013.The phantom claim in the said statement that Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu were once good friends to the knowledge of mutual friends who are still alive is not only false, baseless and typical, but a further attempt by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode to create the impression of a connection between himself and Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu.

“Whilst it is important to reiterate that Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu has never met Chief Femi Kayode and does not know him in person, it is pertinent to note that the statement issued through Mr Akinola Babatunde Rotimi, falls far short of an apology and retraction of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode’s false and libelous outbursts and is merely a desperate attempt to lend credence to fabrications, which he seeks to present as reality with intent to gloss over the very serious issues arising from the reckless publication.

    "We read the comments of the P.A. to Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu in the Sun Newspaper of 9th September and in a number of other newspapers where she expressed the view that the withdrawal of the comments made about her by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode were ''not enough''. We really do wonder what Mrs. Ojukwu really wants from Chief Fani-Kayode and what her agenda really is? Throughout this matter Chief Fani-Kayode has chosen the path of peace and has attempted to avoid an ugly and public quarrel with Bianca Ojukwu out of respect to the memory of her late father Chief C.C. Onoh and the memory of her late husband, Dim Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu . Consequently he has publiclly apologised to her and the two other igbo ladies that he mentioned in the said article (namely Miss Chioma Ansoh and Miss Adaobi Ucgegbu) on two separate occassions, in three separate national newspapers and online. He has has also publically withdrawn the words that they found offensive, he has edited the said article, he has ensured that no newspaper in Nigeria that published it mentioned their names in the revised version, he has admitted that the word ''intimate'' that was used in the online version of the article was ''indiscreet'' and he has bent over backwards to tread the path of peace and to appease all those concerned. Despite all these efforts Bianca Ojukwu has refused to be appeased or to let go and she has continued to peddle the shameless lie that she has never met Chief Fani-Kayode. This is sad and unfortunate and it is beyond the imagination of anyone that a serving Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would so readily and so easily be given to telling such lies. Chief Fani-Kayode is not comfortable with publiclly joining issues with ladies when it comes to matters of a private nature such as this because he was well brought up and he is a gentleman but it is clear that Bianca Ojukwu is desperate to go to war over this issue and to cover up the truth about their past. It is also clear that she has constituted herself into the arrowhead of a group of people that are determined to use her and this whole unsavoury episode to attempt to distract attention from the wider and more important issues raised in the essay and to discredit him. Since that is the case we welcome whatever action Ojukwu wishes to take in court and we shall gladly meet her there. We will also be instigating our own legal proceedings against her in due course for her barefaced and malicious lies and her consistent claim that she has never met Chief Fani-Kayode all in an attempt to libel, defame, diminish and discredit him before the entire world. We wish to state clearly and categorically that not only did Chief Fani-Kayode know her but he also knew her far better than she cares to publiclly admit. The precise nature of that relationship will be explored and exposed in open court. It is not in the nature of Chief Fani-Kayode to fight unecessary and distractive battles over flippant matters such as this but on this occassion he has been compelled to do so simply because he will do whatever it takes to protect his integrity and establish the fact that he has told no lie. Since she has continued her shameless perfidy and wishes to tread the path of deceit and confrontation then so be it. Finally let it be clearly understood that at no point did Chief Fani-Kayode lie about the nature of his relationship with Ojukwu. However he did not feel that it was appropiate or necessary to share the details of that relationship with the public because he felt that such matters were strictly private. The fact that she mistook his mature exercise of restraint and discretion, even when provoked and insulted, his desire for peace and his gentlemanly nature for weakness is not only unfortunate but also a grave miscalculation on her part. Once again we reiterate the fact that we counsel Ojukwu to take whatever course of action she pleases and we welcome this opportunity to expose her for what she is. The matter has been referred to our lawyers for final preparation.
