A woman in Guangzhou, China, was devastated to find her son was born with an eye condition which means he has little or no eye tissue.
The condition Anophthalmia is said to affect one in every 100,000 children, and it means that the boy will never be able to see.
The child's mother, named Liu Peihua, gave birth on September 20 and is now talking with specialists at a larger hospital in Guangzhou to get a thorough examination of the baby.
Liu Peihua's family say Liu attended every antenatal check and was not informed with any unusual results.

The Ogun Police Command says it will prosecute a Pentecostal pastor, Wale Fagbere, who allegedly invaded a traditional shrine in Ketu area of Ayetoro in Ogun.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Monday that the cleric would be charged for malicious damage and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
“What he did was wrong and so he must be charged to court. If it was the other way round too, they will also be charged to court.
“Everyone has a right to worship whatever deity one chooses without fear or favour, “he said.
Oyeyemi, however, said he could not tell in which court the accused would be arraigned as at press time.
NAN reports that Fagbere on Saturday attempted to pull down a traditional shrine in Ketu, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
But he was reported to have immediately gone numb upon entering the shrine, attracting a crowd to the scene.
He, however, regained consciousness after the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Abdulaziz Adelakun, intervened and directed that some some traditional rites be carried out on him.
Former Aston Villa and England striker Jackie Sewell has died at the age of 89, it was announced Monday.

Three suspected robbers who have been terrorising passers-by, broken down vehicle owners, passengers and other road users around Otedola Bridge in Lagos have been arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command just as they recovered two master keys from them.
The suspects, Chima Joseph (24), Hassan Adamu (34) and Ibietan Oluwaseyi (41), were arrested after they dragged their victim from the Expressway into the bush and dispossessed him of all his belonging.
The victim, Idi Musa, who was in Lagos for the first time, said he was on his way to Apapa from Borno State to meet his brother. According to him,

“I alighted at Ojodu-Berger to walk from the Bus Stop to Ojota. As I walked down the road towards the bridge (Otedola), I heard somebody called out from the bush, Aboki! Aboki!!, zo mana (come). I ignored the call because I didn’t know them. Before now, I have been warned to mind my business when in Lagos. As i continued on my journey, the two of them (pointing to Chima and Adamu) ran after me, dragged me with my trousers into the bush; beat me several times before searching my pockets and luggage. They took N3, 000 from me…. After collecting my money, one of them (pointing to Hassan Adamu) threatened me that he was a Lagos State Government official and that if I ever come back there, they would arrest me and send me back to my village….
They then released me to go. As I descended the slope towards the bridge, I spotted an RRS vehicle. I went to the officers, narrated all that happened to me. At their office, three teams of officers were drafted to comb the Bush properly. It was in the process that they arrested the other two that dragged me from the road into the bush before collecting my money.”
It was gathered that RRS’s surveillance team have been on the lookout for the robbers terrorising people during traffic congestion in that area. It was further learnt that more than four people have been arrested for robbing road users while two additional cases of robbery linked to the suspects have been reported to RRS’s operatives.
One of the suspects, Chima Joseph, from whom the master keys were recovered, stated that he found the keys on the ground, adding that he was looking for a place to put it for people to see. It was revealed that the key, when tested opened the doors of 2 Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla and one Honda (End of Discussion). He confessed that they dragged Musa into the bush, ransacked him and collected his N3,000.

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, has declared his readiness to face investigations into his tenure at the top bank.
Mr. Sanusi’s comments came as a response to a call by Femi Falana, a senior lawyer, urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate alleged “diversion” of government funds by the CBN, under Mr. Sanusi.
Mr. Falana also called for the probe of Mr. Sanusi’s predecessor, Charles Soludo.
“Sometime in 2006, former Central Bank Governor, Profesor Chukwuma Soludo removed $7 billion from the nation’s external reserves and doled it out to 14 Nigerian banks. Two years later, the Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (the current Emir of Kano) also gave a bailout of N600 billion to the same banks. The request of some civil society organisations for the recovery of the huge loan of $7 billion and N600 billion from the commercial banks has been ignored by the management of the Central Bank,” Mr. Falana said in a statement on Saturday.
“In the Appropriation Act, 2011, the sum of N245 billion was earmarked for fuel subsidy. In violation of the Act, the Central Bank of Nigeria headed by Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi paid the sum of N2.5 trillion to a cabal of fuel importers. Following our petition the EFCC conducted an investigation into the fraud but the exercise was compromised due to pressure from the former Jonathan administration. Even though the EFCC has charged some of the suspects to court the investigation ought to be reopened with a view to getting to the root of the monumental fraud.”
Mr. Sanusi said he was always available at any time to answer questions regarding his stewardship at the central bank.
A man attempted to snap a selfie with a captured python yesterday shortly after forest department officials removed the snake from a hotel in Mount Abu, northwestern India.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned cos as the unidentified man posed for the picture, the snake rose up and bit him on the shoulder.
A passerby captured the scary incident on camera and posted the footage online. Watch it below.
Incredibly, the man managed to immediately run away and only sustained minor injuries. Officials later removed the snake from the area. Its current location is not known.
A teenager agreed to be buried alive after she was struck by lightning and her family members told her it was the only way to cure her of her crippling back pains.
Ana Ballesteros, 18, was covered up to her neck for three days a week in her garden.
The bizarre home cure saw her placed in a giant hole which was filled with earth. Relatives believed this would “take the energy” the lightning left in her.
The teenager was struck by a bolt as she walked to college recently.
She was treated in hospital but continued to suffer back pain she claimed prevented her from walking properly.
She began quirky ‘therapy’ sessions - which involved her being buried for up to four hours a day over three days. Ana said:
“Doctors study medicine but not lightning.
“I know that getting into that hole I’m going to get better because these are ancient things.”
Her gran Blanca de la Rosa said:
“What we’re doing is taking the fire out of the light, the heat out of the energy.”
Ana’s mum Milena added:
“Locals told me before I took her to hospital that we’d be better off burying her instead to take the energy from the lightning away.
“I’m praying she comes out okay.
She can’t walk properly and the burns she suffered on her feet cause her pain. I trust in God.” It is not known if the treatment, which began earlier this week, worked.
Local doctors expressed their scepticism. With one saying:
“There’s no scientific proof that burying a patient who has been struck by lightning has any beneficial effects for their recovery.”
Four people were feared dead in Warri River on Friday in a boat mishap involving the funeral party to the burial of late Thomas Ekpemupolo, father of Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo).
A community leader in Gbaramatu Kingdom, who craved anonymity, told newsmen on Saturday in Warri that the victims included a man and three women. He said that two of the female victims were from Kurutie and Ogulaha communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the victims boarded the ill-fated speed boat at the Miller Waterside in Warri to attend the weeklong funeral which commenced on Thursday.
“We were already at the funeral celebrating Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo when we got news of the accident.
“Initially, we were told only two persons died, later we heard that the victims were four. ”The male victim, who was apparently from the northern part of the country, was on a mission to sell some wares at the funeral ground,” he said.
NAN recalled that Late Ekpemupolo died on Sept. 7 at Lily Clinic, Warri.
Delta Police spokesperson, SP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident, said the number of casualties were yet to be ascertained. ”I was regretfully informed that AW-19 boat mounted with 115 horsepower Yamaha engine capsized at Warri river.
”My patrol team rescued 11 persons; searching and investigation is ongoing. ”For your information, there is no manifest to show the number of passengers in the boat. ”So the number of deaths is not certain yet, the bodies will float by tomorrow,” said the Delta police spokesperson.
Canadian actor Richard Hong was found dead in a Los Angeles home being rented by George Stroumboulopoulos, a Canadian TV and radio personality, according to Los Angeles Police.
Hong, 41, was the apparent victim of a burglary attempt, police said.
"The victIm was a dear friend of mine, who was staying at my place while I was away. I am heartbroken. " Stroumboulopoulos wrote on Facebook. He said he was in New York at the time and is returning to Los Angeles.
Police found Hong's body after they responded to a 911 call around 2 a.m. Friday.
Witnesses saw a man dressed in a black jacket fleeing from the scene, according to LAPD Officer Jenny Houser.
"There's so much to say but I'm at a loss for words so just love your people and I will have more to say when we know more about what happened," Stroumboulopoulos said in his Facebook statement.
