Following reports on Amber Rose’ recent Slut Walk, Nigerian rapper and music executive, Lanre Dabiri popularly known as elDee The Don launched an attack on the American model. The former stripper had her second annual Slut Walk, an event which seeks to put an end to slut-shaming, on Saturday in Downtown Los Angeles, which was attended by a lot of people.
In a series of tweets, the rapper described Amber Rose as a ‘professional hoe’ who is not fit to be a role model for children. Continuing, the obviously angry rapper noted that he is not judging her lifestyle choices but made it clear that it is not OK to make people like her “options for little girls”.

Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima on Saturday, October 1st, received 348 Boko Haram suspects who were cleared by the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army for onward rehabilitation and reintegration with their families.
 
The governor congratulated the people of the state and the nation for its 56th Independence Anniversary and thanked for peace and harmony.
 
"In this auspicious day of our 56th independence Anniversary of our nation, it is my singular honor and privilege to congratulate the good people of Borno and thank the God Almighty for giving us this opportunity to celebrate this occasion in peace and harmony," said Shettima.

"Two years ago, nobody will have thought we can gather in an atmosphere of tranquility, peace and serenity of mind for us to celebrate this occasion. We want to register our profound gratitude to the Nigerian Army and all other security agencies that played active roles in ensuring of restoration of peace in our state. It is gratifying to note that the last back shade of the insurgents have been finally liberated and we want to thank the Nigerian Army for handing over 348 people to us. It is noteworthy that this is fifth time the Nigerian Army is releasing such people to us. This bears testimony to the fact that the Nigerian Army sticktly adheres to rule of law, equity, justice and fairness.

"Be rest assured that these released suspect will be adequately rehabilitated and resettled with their families and for the younger one who are under the ages of 5-10, we should immediately explore a means of taking them to our rehabilitation facility. Once again I will like to congratulate all Nigerians on our 56th independencenAnniversary and on behalf of all people of Borno state I wish to thank all security agencies in the state for the prominent roles they have played in clearing scourge of insurgents," Shettima further stated.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the acting GOC of the 7th Division Brig. Gen. Victor Ezugwu said the overall goal of the releasing is for the sake of doing to innocent Nigerian.

"This event is the fifth of such which the 7 Division has conducted since assumption of this command and the overall goal is that the just and innocent citizens of Nigeria do not suffer injustice," said Ezugwu.

"There are some other suspects who are not released today because they committed crimes that are civil in nature and as such, would be handed over to the Nigeria Police and Department of State Services for further action. Amongst them are also 6 foreigners who illegally entered Nigeria. They consist of 4 Cameroonians, one Chadian and one Jamaican and would be handed over to the Nigerian Immigration Service for deportation. 

"I wish to use this opportunity to thank the Borno state government under the able and dynamic leadership of Hon. Kashim Shettima for giving political impetus to activities of the military and other security agencies in the state," Ezugwu said.

The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has promised that power will soon be handed over to younger Nigerians.
He also charged them not to repeat the mistakes made by the present crop of leaders so as not to jeopardize their future.

Okorocha stated this in Owerri as part of his message during the 56th Independent day celebration of Nigeria in the state.

He said, “we will soon hand over the nation to you, where we have failed as your parents, you cannot afford to fail, you must all work hard to build the Nigeria of our collective dreams and aspirations. You must stand firm and never repeat the mistakes of your past leaders. Nigeria is on the path of greatness.”

On the issue of the current recession Nigeria is passing through, he said, “In the past few years, nobody was talking about Agriculture, but oil. And today, Agriculture has become the unavoidable issue in the nation’s debate or discourse. All these point out the fact that the nation is moving to the fast lane of development and growth.”

“Whatever challenges the country is facing at the moment could not be said to be strange because all the big nations of the world we celebrate today had also passed through such challenges and even more traumatizing challenges.”

The Governor also enjoined Nigerians to engage in activities that would further strengthen the existing unity in the country, noting that inspite of ethnic and religious differences Nigeria has remained an indivisible country.

“At 56 Nigeria has remained a united nation not minding the glaring diversities, and charged Nigerians of goodwill to begin to see light at the end of the nation’s tunnel both in her economy, politics, development and growth.”

Former Manchester United and Scotland striker David Herd has died at the age of 82, his old club announced Sunday.

Herd played a key role in United’s revival following the 1958 Munich air disaster and scored twice in their 3-1 win over Leicester in the 1963 FA Cup final.

He also helped United win the English league title in 1965 and 1967.

Herd, who previously played for Arsenal, scored 145 goals for United.

He left United for Stoke a month after they won the European Cup against Benfica in 1968, a success in which he played little part having suffered a broken leg the year before.

United and Stoke were involved in a Premier League match on Sunday, with players from both clubs wearing black armbands as a mark of respect to Herd.

“Everybody at Manchester United is saddened to hear of the passing of David Herd,” the club posted on manutd.com.

“We can confirm that both United and Stoke will wear black armbands this afternoon to pay tribute to David Herd, who played for both clubs.”

Herd’s former United team-mate Paddy Crerand tweeted: “Sad news about my old team mate David Herd. Great player made my ordinary passes into him great ones. Tremendous shot and strength.”

The kidnappers who abducted Margaret Emefiele, wife of Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) are demanding N1.5b for her release.
Sahara Reporters revealed that the kidnappers had contacted the Emefiele family for the ransom.

Margaret Emefiele was kidnapped Thursday night along Benin-Agbor Road by heavily armed men.

Investigations revealed that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris had already dispatched the anti-terror tactical team and hundreds of policemen to comb the forest between Benin and Agbor to locate the abducted woman.

A former Inspector-General of Police, Etim Inyang is dead. His son, Inyang Etim Inyang announced his death today in a press release stating he died on Monday at Reddington Hospital in Lagos.

”We write to formally announce the call to glory of our father, Obong (Sir) Etim Okon Inyang, Inspector General of Police (rtd). The sad event occurred at the Reddington Hospital, Lagos on Sept. 26, 2016 at the age of 85,” he said representing his family in a statement.

The man named Sediuk, tried to kiss Kim Kardashian’s butt today in Paris, but fortunately he didn’t get very far before her security took him out.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has once again arraigned a former governor of Abia, Orji Uzor Kalu together with two other people on a 34-count amended charge of fraud.

The former governor, his company Slok Nigeria Limited and his former commissioner for finance, Jones Udeogo, were re-arraigned before the Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday, September 27, with Justice Anwuri Chikere presiding.

According to Punch, Uzor Kalu and other defendants pleaded that the court wait for the pending appeal by Slok before the Supreme Court, however their plea failed.

Justice Chikere refused the defendants’ objection to their arraignment and ordered that the amended charge be read to them. They were accused of diverting about N3.2 billion from the Abia government’s treasury during Kalu’s tenure as governor.

They defendants all pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chikere allowed them on bail on the terms attached to the bail granted them on April 30, 2008. The court adjourned the case till December 6 for commencement of trial.

Meanwhile, a former chief naval staff Usman Jibrin has been arraigned in court by the EFCC.

Jibrin, a vice admiral (retired) was arraigned on Tuesday, September 27, alongside three others – Bala Mshelia, Shehu Ahmadu, both retired rear admirals and Habour Bay International limited – over allegations of criminal conspiracy.

The EFCC alleged that the former naval chief and the other accused persons allegedly conspired and bought a house of N600 million while in office.
