One of Nigeria’s most respected gospel artistes, Tope Alabi, has a past she’s not proud of as with many of us; at least this is according to what was authoritatively disclosed to this office.
According to Gistmania, the musician who is now married to her manager, Soji Alabi had a secret love child before going into the union that has since produced three wonderful kids.
This revelation we were reliably informed is shrouded in utmost secrecy and only known to the songstress’ very close family members.
“Unknown to many, Tope Alabi has a love child though the child is now adopted by her husband who also doubles as her manager” our source narrated.
Tracing the story of her first offspring (a 20 year old girl), the Ore Ti O Common crooner we exclusively learnt, got pregnant at the age of twenty four to a man who wouldn't want to hear of it.
Now in her mid forties, the highly talented singer we further gathered was a member of a Yoruba Theater group as an aspiring actress when she met the father of her child.
“They didn't even court for long before the news got out that she was pregnant and if I must say a lot of us who were close to her couldn’t believe the reports because she was known to be a very smart lady”, our source added.
It was also revealed that the entertainer met her husband, then a Studio Engineer some few years later when she went for one of her jingle recordings in Ikeja. And the rest like they say is history as the duo are now married with three kids.

Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe, has alleged that his former Vice President and other top officials in his ruling Zanu-PF sought the services of Nigerian witch doctors in a bid to kill him.
According to the Africa Review, President Mugabe made the bizarre claims last weekend as he celebrated his 91st birthday at a lavish party hosted by the party’s communist-styled 21st February movement.
The veteran ruler, in power since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980, claims he was ordained by God
to rule forever, according to the report. He told party supporters at the celebrations that sacked Vice-President Joice Mujuru used two Nigerian witch doctors in her alleged plot to have him killed.
Ms Mujuru was sacked together with more than 10 Cabinet ministers for allegedly plotting to assassinate President Mugabe and being involved in corrupt activities. The former VP has repeatedly denied the allegations and some of the ministers were preparing a court application to challenge their expulsion from Zanu-PF.
President Mugabe said Ms Mujuru was now too desperate to push him out of power even after he won an election in 2013.
“We managed to know what (Ms) Mujuru was doing at her house, even consulting witchdoctors,” he claimed.
Recently she invited two Nigerian witchdoctors. We heard that they were specialists in the field of witchcraft. They were specialists, yes, but specialists in robbing people, foolish people.”
He said the Nigerians ordered Ms Mujuru to buy chickens that were named after herself, the President, his wife and Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The President claimed the former Vice-President who was his deputy for 10 years, performed the rituals naked.
“Where do these Nigerians get the powers to entrap the soul of a human being into a chicken or sheep and then kill him? God is for us all. I also go to church, I do not believe in superstition. We were taught God’s teachings.”
Despite claims made since October last year that Ms Mujuru plotted to kill President Mugabe, she has not been charged with any crime. President Mugabe has repeatedly threatened that the sacked government officials would be sent to jail for alleged corruption, but no action has been taken up to now.
Last year, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs ministry summoned Zimbabwean envoy in Abuja Stanley Kunjeku to protest after President Mugabe said Nigerians were corrupt. The Nigerian government at the time said it had lodged ‘the strongest protest’ against the veteran ruler’s statements.

Angry mob beat up mad woman in Ibafo area of Ogun State, after they discovered a dead baby in her possession.
The mentally derailed woman identified as Tope, while playing with the dead baby at a refuse dump was seen by a resident of the area who called the attention of neighbours to the scene.
While being confronted by the angry mob, the mad woman dropped the dead baby and took to her heels while the mob they pursued her and beat her up.
The Police Officers at the Ibafo Police Station came to the rescue of the mad woman who is said to be in her 40s.
Some of the residents of the area said the mentally drenched woman was only pretending while others said she is actually mad.
A resident affirmed, “I came to Ibafo five years ago and I have known her since then. According to what I heard, she has been like that for years. We were all surprised when we saw the baby with her. Probably, somebody dumped the child somewhere, and she picked it.
She said, “Although I was not part of the people that beat her up, the rampant case of using human parts for money ritual prompted them to do so.”
One Mrs Rose Mary, a trader in the area said, the dead child may have been a victim of ritual killers who after using the baby for ritual purpose dumped the remains in the refuse dump.
“Some wicked parents can decide to throw away their baby just because of poverty or if they are not ready for parenting. It can also be that the baby was used for rituals and dumped.”
An Okada rider known as Rasaq Bashir, said the mentally challenged woman was only pretending to be mad as she uses it to cover up to carry out her evil act. Bashir noted that she has not been seen in the area since the incident happened, adding that youths in the area burnt down all her items.
Bashir noted that, “I don’t think she is mentally ill. She ran towards police station for safety. That is why I am suspicious of her. Since that morning till now (Saturday evening), we have not seen her, whereas she used to come here every day.”
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, while confirming the incident said, Tope was attacked while Bosom -feeding the dead baby.

A fire outbreak has occurred in a plaza on Ereko Street in Idumota, Lagos Island. The fire started this afternoon from the middle floor of the plaza and luckily, fire fighters quickly responded to the calls they got. Two other plazas have been affected by fire lately in Lagos Island, with traders loosing goods worth millions of Naira. It will be recalled that Lagos State Governor, Babtunde Raji Fashola promised to help some of those traders start again when he visited them shortly after the fire incident. ABAKALIKI- EBONYI state House of Assembly Friday morning served an impeachment notice on Governor Martin Elechi over what it described as act of gross misconduct by the Governor.
Reading the notice at the plenary, the acting leader of the House, Hon. Francis Nwifruru accused the Governor of huge financial misappropriation, undermining of the integrity of the House, among other offences.
The motion for him to be served the notice was moved by Hon. Odefa Obasi Odefa and seconded by Hon. Valentine Okike

He was killed after the vehicle he was riding in with other colleagues struck a landmine, blowing up the vehicle. It happened in Gamboru, a Nigerian town. He and another soldier died in the incident.

A man arrested for allegedly attempting to rape his daughter in Ajeromi, Ifelodun local government area of Lagos State, has told the police that he wanted to test her virginity.
Leadership reports that the suspect, identified simply as Alex, was said to have attempted to rape his 15-year- old daughter, Agnes (not real name), in his apartment at Abiodun street, Ajegunle.
Alex was apprehended by his neighbours and handed over to the police at Ajegunle police station but
was later released on bail at the weekend.
Alex had told Agnes to undress up to her underwear, and allegedly wanted to make love to her but she raised the alarm. The neighbours came to her rescue after forcing the door open.
A police inspector attached to Ajegunle police station, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that it was neighbours that dragged the suspect to the station. He said:
“His wife was not at home when he wanted to perpetrate the act but the man denied doing that. You know that nobody will agree that he wanted to rape his daughter. Police acted on the information given to us and even took the minor to the general hospital for medical examination.”
According to the source, Alex claimed that he only wanted to check whether his daughter had been breached.
“He wanted to know whether his daughter is still a virgin or not. So he decided to insert his fingers, to know her situation, according to him,” he said.

Two Nigerian workers in have appeared before the Dubai Criminal Court for allegedly stealing computers and spare parts from mini buses after breaking into them.
According to Gistmania: the accused persons, who are 26 years old and 30 respectively, would travel on their motorbike from Sharjah where they resided, to Dubai and roam around in search of buses to steal from. Their preferred type of vehicle was Toyota Hiace. After locating the buses, they would break the glass window, open the bus and steal its parts.
Owners of the buses reported the incidents to the police on several occasions, leading to the arrest of the accused.
During interrogations, the pair revealed that they would ship the stolen spare parts and computers outside the country.
The court will reconvene at the beginning of March.
