Back home, the pressure mounts on former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to explain his role in the diversion of arms funds during his administration- but in the abroad- he is being honoured, and expected to hold a world press conference in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday, January 27.

While the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has revealed that Jonathan authorised all transactions he made, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, has admitted to receiving millions from the former NSA to carry out some ‘assignment’ for the former President.

It remains unknown whether he would speak on the ongoing investigation into the arms purchase process at the press conference- which is part of activities lined up by the Circle of Diplomats (Circle Diplomatique), Geneva in honour of Jonathan.

Guy Mettan, Executive Director, the Geneva Press Club, announced that Jonathan will address two crucial topics in Nigeria and West Africa at the press briefing.

According to Mettan, the former president will speak on security and civil peace in Nigeria and West Africa, as well as the improvement of health and education of children.

Accredited United Nations correspondents and Swiss journalists will be present to cover proceedings at the press conference.

The PDP chieftain is also expected to talk about Boko Haram activities in Nigeria and the fight against insurgency.
