In a recent development, the management of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), located in Wudil, Kano State, has clarified the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a female student, Yahaya Aisha Olabisi.

Contrary to earlier reports circulating on social media, the university management confirmed that Olabisi was found deceased in her off-campus apartment and not within the university's students' hostel, as initially claimed.

Olabisi, a dedicated 300-level student majoring in Food and Science Technology, tragically passed away shortly after returning to her residence from writing her first examination in the ongoing first-semester exams.

A fellow student, speaking on the condition of anonymity, attributed Olabisi's sudden demise to the immense pressure of examinations, highlighting the toll academic stress can take on students.

Addressing the misinformation, Prof. Abdulkadir Dambazau, the Dean of Students' Affairs at ADUSTECH, issued a statement to the public, urging them to disregard earlier reports of Olabisi's death within the university's hostel.

Clarifying the sequence of events leading to Olabisi's passing, Prof. Dambazau revealed that the diligent student had spent her final evening engrossed in studies, diligently preparing for upcoming exams.

Following a shared breakfast with her roommate and a conversation with her father the next morning, Olabisi expressed her intention to rest briefly before resuming her studies.

However, destiny took a tragic turn when concerns arose in the early afternoon upon Olabisi's failure to respond to attempts to reach her.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that she had peacefully passed away in her sleep within her off-campus residence, shocking the university community.

Swift measures were taken, and Olabisi was promptly transported to the university clinic, where medical professionals confirmed her passing.

Given the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise, her remains were transferred to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for postmortem analysis to ascertain the cause of death.

Following proper protocols, Olabisi was laid to rest on April 24, as the university community came together to honor her memory and bid her farewell.

The university administration emphasized the importance of refraining from spreading or engaging with misinformation that could tarnish the institution's reputation and cause undue panic among students and the public.

Heartbreaking.
May the Almighty grant her eternal rest in paradise. May He console her loved ones.
It's just a brief life we live.
May our end be glorious and our Lord be pleased with us.
