A chilling tale of abduction has gripped the community of Iyana Ilogbo in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State as four men remain missing after attending a party in Shaki, Oyo State.
The missing men, identified as Omogbolahan Olakunle, Rafiu Oriade Jolaiya, Nurudeen Olaitan Salami, and a man simply known as Ernest, embarked on a journey to the neighboring state to partake in a gathering organized by a community leader, Saheed Salau, in honor of his late mother.
Tragically, their return trip to Lagos took a harrowing turn when they were reportedly abducted around the Maya axis of the Lanlate-Eruwa highway by suspected herdsmen on Thursday evening.
According to accounts from family members, the abductors have since made contact, demanding a staggering ransom of N50 million for each victim, totaling a staggering N200 million. The kidnappers have issued a chilling ultimatum, threatening to end the lives of the captives if the ransom is not paid by the looming deadline on Saturday.
Salawat, the wife of one of the victims, Nurudeen, recounted the distressing ordeal, revealing the heart-wrenching moments when she received news of her husband's abduction. Her pleas for mercy and the urgent need for ransom were echoed in audio recordings of conversations between the kidnappers and family members, shedding light on the gravity of the situation.
Despite efforts to reach out to law enforcement agencies for assistance, including the Oyo State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ade Hamzat, responses have yet to yield tangible progress in securing the safe return of the abducted men.
As the families of the victims grapple with fear and uncertainty, the community remains on edge, anxiously awaiting updates and praying for the swift and safe release of their loved ones.
