Lawan made this disclosure while presenting the report of his committee before a rowdy session of the House for consideration.
Lawan disclosed that an order was given by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Madueke, ordering the NNPC to stop payment of subsidy on kerosene because the subsidy was not being felt by the masses.
He said despite this, the NNPC continued to collect subsidy on the product and that the total amount collected by the agency as at the end of 2011 was N310 billion.
Lawan called on members to look at the report dispassionately and approve its recommendations in order to salvage the oil industry from corruption which is endemic in the sector.
At press time, the House was still deliberating on other issues
