Some youths stormed the Zaria Police Station on Saturday to protest the alleged killing of one Abdullahi Nura by a middle age man, over a N250 snatched from a girl.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the protesting youths demanded that the suspect, who was in police custody be handed over to them.

It took the intervention of the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, to disperse the crowd.

Investigation by NAN revealed that the youths were aggrieved because they claimed that the incident was not the first time the suspect had committed murder in Zaria.

One of the youths, who pleaded anonymous, told NAN that the incident occurred on Friday.

He said that the suspect allegedly snatched N250 from a young girl sent on errand by her parent. However, the suspect attacked the deceased when he (the deceased) asked the suspect why he took the money from the girl.

The source said the suspect, who did not take kindly to the deceased’s intervention at this juncture brought out a knife and stabbed Abdullahi Nura to death.

“We are all out to ensure that the killer of Abdullahi is also killed,’’ he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Command, Mr Aminu Lawal, confirmed the incident and said the case has been transferred to CID, Kaduna.

He gave assurance that the police was investigating the matter. (NAN)

I think that the Nigerian government should make and enforce strongly some law protecting the life and rights of the cattle and cows, these awusas kill human beings as if they kill cows. Maybe that will teach them to respect human life.

Maybe you are wrong cos I have always known that an aboki Grin values his cow much more than his family and so making laws that protect their cows is still not going to stop their way of life.
