Benin monarch lifts suspension on Igbinedion

The Benin Monarch, Oba Erediauwa has lifted the suspension placed on the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion.
Chief Igbinedion was suspended in January 2008 for allegedly participating in anti-palace activities. 
He had publicly apologised to Oba Erediauwa during his daughter’s wedding to the monarch’s nephew in 2010. 
The apology was rejected and the Benin Royal Family boycotted the wedding. 
   A statement signed by Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor and issued to journalists on Wednesday was however silent on why the suspension was lifted.
