Last Wednesday, along Nicon Junction, Maitama, the convoy of the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, reportedly knocked down a Mr. James Momoh of Abuja based Pilot Newspapers.
PM News reports said Momoh was rushed to the an NNPC hospital immediately but unfortunately, Momoh died later.
His death infuriated his colleagues, NUJ who lamented that Momoh's tragic death brings to fore the recklessness of government convoys and their absolute disregard for traffic rules and other road users.
And that the minister has not demonstrated any concern and human feeling for the deceased by reaching out to his relatives, rather she was more bothered about protecting her image.
However, NNPC has issued statements describing as untrue reports that the convoy of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke was involved in a deadly car crash which killed Mr. James Momoh, a staff of the Nigerian Pilot Newspaper in Abuja.
They however confirmed that a shuttle vehicle belonging to the Corporation was involved in an accident which eventually led to the death of the Pilot Newspaper staff.
“I want to state categorically that the unfortunate event of last night has nothing to do with the convoy of the Honourable Minister as speculated.
The accident involved one of our shuttle buses which regrettably knocked down a pedestrian in the Mabushi area of Abuja and was immediately rushed to the NNPC Medical Centre for attention. But sadly the young man gave up the ghost,’’ he said.
The NNPC spokesman stated that the Minister’s convoy was not involved in the crash in any way noting that the vehicle in question is not part of the minister’s pilot vehicles.
He said the Management of the NNPC has taken steps to meet with the family of the deceased as well as the Management of Pilot Newspapers

WHY SHOULD A CONVOY HIT AN INDIVIDUAL AND BE LESS CONCERNED? THAT IS THE BIG SIGN OF EVIL AND CARELESS LEADERSHIP. A COUNTRY IN JEOPARDY, IGNORANCE, INHUMANITY, INJUSTICE, WITHOUT THE FEAR OF GOD IS A LOST COUNTRY.

I keep saying it that Nigerian leaders are blood suking demons. Inhumanity and injustice because she is a minister injustice in the highst convoy with havy security every where only for the ministers and gornvenors why the poor man the masses are dying, i could renmber when one of them said he don't who is the masses wicked leaders in a wicked generation I have been in Dubai for years now but i have not seen a convoy for one day to say this is the govn of dubai or the president of the UAE even the police respt the traffic. but in my dear country Nigeria since you are a minister or whateve in the govt your are abover the law even the traffice law is not for you is only for the poor people. Rubish tell me if this can of thing happens in America or in any other country that knows what law is all about if this woman will still be the office by now? Well i have nothing more to say but let us know that God is in heaven looking all of us that one our book will open for us to ans for the good and evil which we have did in this world, and it will be long just very soon.
