Should there be a law, legalizing same sex marriage in Nigeria? (Page 7)

homosegxwality is already criminalized in Nigeria.
Depending on whether the person is Christian or Muslim, the penalty is still either 14 years imprisonment or death by stoning. So, with such legal deterrents already in place, what is the purpose of the new Same-Sex Bill? Have the members of gays and lesbians seeking to marry or procure civil unions in Nigeria become so significant as to warrant a specific prohibition? In fact, the bill is about much more than protecting the sanctity of marriage.
The full title of the pending law is A BILL FOR AN ACT TO MAKE PROVISIONS FOR THE PROHIBITION OF segxwal RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSONS OF THE SAME SEX, CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE BY THEM AND FOR OTHER MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH.

I think that same sex marriages shouldn't be at all, anywhere in the world. Now the statement that was made about the Nigerians getting caught up in the ways of the West (being gay) are not right. I think that the Nigerians that you are speaking about were already having feelings that they were gay or already knew that they were attracted to the same sex and upon coming to the West they discovered that they can be open about their segxwality and at home they can not. Being gay is a choice and I don't think it matters where you're from. Its an individual choice.

I REALLY THINK IT IS DISGUSTING TO SAY THE LEAST. WHERE WE EVEN BEGIN TO CONSIDER SOME DEPRAVED HUMAN BEINGS SIDE KICKS, THEN I THINK WE ARE ALSO GRADUALLY GOING KOLO. IMAGING IF OUR GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GREAT GRAND PARENTS WERE GAY OR LESBIANS, WILL WE BE HERE TODAY? I THINK ITS IS AN ILLNES WORST THAN AIDS AND NEEDS TO BE EXTERMINATED. TO BE GAY OR LESBIAN IS SO MUCH A DEPRAVITY, AND TO START THINKING OF SAME SEX MARRIAGE IS A CASE OF "DOUBLE WAHALA FOR DEAD BODY"'. THOSE PEOPLE NEED DELIVERANCE.
