The hunt for Nigeria’s next Video Jockey is on. With just a few weeks to go, the hunt by MTV Base has taken a hotter dimension.
According to the Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks, Alex Okosi, aspiring talents have already started sending in their entries via email.
Meanwhile, music artiste, Bankole ‘Banky W’ Wellington, has been signed up as one of the judges for the VJ search. Banky will join other judges to help identify the new VJ, who is expected to become one of the key faces of the music network, hosting programmes on MTV Base and on the MTV Base block on STV.
The winner will also interview stars, act as compere and walk the red carpet at entertainment events, as well as travel all over the continent representing MTV Base.
The new VJ will be following in the footsteps of MTV Base VJ Cynthia “C-Von” Okpala, who won MTV Base’s first ever Nigerian VJ search in 2007.
