The 26 year old Education/Accounting graduate of Imo State University, Austin Igwilo emerged winner of the 2012 edition of Model of Africa competition which took place On Sunday 21st October 2012 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The runner-ups were Thompson Korakpe (1st Runner Up) andIzuchukwu Anoliefo (2nd Runner Up) as well as Okechukwu Ojukwu (Mr Runway Africa 2012), Raymond Okonji (Mr Style Africa 2012), Hillary Uduh (Mr Fitness Africa),Valentine Okuzulu (Mr Photogenic), 19 year old Mr Popularity Africa winner Olumide Oworu and Mthokozisi Sikhosana (Mr Amity Africa 2012),
They were all presented with personalized wrist watches, award plaques and prizes from participating designers and sponsors.
