The FRSC announced recently that the Minimum age required for an individual to start driving in Nigeria is 26 years.
According to Christopher Ademoluti,Kwara State sector commander of FRSC while speaking at the inauguration of commercial driver’s licence in Ilorin said the measure would ensure that only mature commercial drivers would have the opportunity to drive and convey others.
“We want to peg the minimum age of a commercial driver in Nigeria at 26 to enable them have the experience, maturity and expertise to drive and convey people, unlike the present situation where we have underage people like 16-year-olds driving commercial vehicles,” he said.

But seriously that doesn't make sense. Now unemployment rate would increase again. Age does not determine their fitness to drive. What they need is to access their psychiatric ability. Most of these commercial drivers are not mentally stable, whether old or young

This country sef! How can this ever make sense? 26 is too old na,what if there is an emergency & a 21year old is available to drive someone to the hospital,what happens den? Ehn???
