Fire Guts Obasanjos Hilltop Residence

A fire which reportedly started around 4:30pm Thursday, has gutted a section of the multi-million naira hilltop residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

Although it is not yet clear what started the fire, we gathered that the ex-president’s secretary’s office, located within the expansive mansion, at Ibara GRA, was gutted.

Meanwhile, an Ogun State Fire Service truck marked OG 122 AO9 got to the scene of the fire incident an hour after it was detected and was quickly joined by another 10mins later even as men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, the Nigeria Police, State Security Service and close friends of the ex-president battled to contain the fire from spreading to other parts of the sprawling estate
