At least 30 people were killed in a fire that broke out while rival gangs were trying to scoop fuel from a burst pipeline in Arepo village in Nigeria's southern state of Ogun, police said today.

The inferno was sparked yesterday by gun shots which followed an argument between rival gangs on who should be allowed to scoop the fuel spilling from a ruptured pipeline, local Sun newspaper reported
