Four persons were killed on Saturday when some suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded Gwande village in Manguna district of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Our correspondent gathered that six Fulani herdsmen had invaded the village and attacked a house, killing two people. The residents were said to have mobilised and launched a counter  attack, during which process two of the invaders were killed.

A former councillor that represented the area, Mr. Arut Bulus, told our correspondent on Sunday that the herdsmen, vowing to revenge the killing of two of the attackers, were regrouping to carry out another attack.

Bulus said the villagers had abandoned their homes for fear of further attacks.

He said, “Right now, the villagers have all fled their homes because a report came to us that some armed Fulani herdsmen  are coming through the forest to attack our people.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Felicia Anselm, told our correspondent on Sunday that though she had yet to get the report, the police would mobilise their men to ward off any further attack.

“I will call my boss now to inform him of the development, and I am sure we will do everything to prevent any further attack,” she said

Meanwhile, a member representing Jos North/Bassa in the Federal House of Representatives, Mr. Suleiman Kwande, has inaugurated a community police post in Kabong, Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.
