WELDONE : Thousands of Boko Haram Terrorists Killed, Over 1,000 Captured – Brig-Gen. Olukolade

Brig-Gen. Chris Olukolade, the controller of Defence data (DDI)
stated on August 8, 2013 that about 1,000 constituents of the
vicious Boko Haram sect have been apprehended since the
declaration of crisis rule by leader Goodluck Jonathan in the three
north-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, three months
ago. The captives are currently held in diverse positions for further
intelligence gathering and interrogating.
The declaration has been made after some reporters claimed an
evaluation of the junction Task Force (JTF) towards accomplishing
the mandate of emergency direct, having come to the mid-way
assess of three out of the six months approved by the National
Assembly.
Brig-Gen. Chris Olukolade told about achievement of operations
which dislodged Boko Haram terrorists from their former
strongholds, particularly in Borno and Yobe States.
He, although, documented that there were more who died
throughout exchange of gunfire with the JTF, some were also carted
away and interred by Boko Haram, while some others, who were
apprehended with gunshot wounds past away after, despite the
best health vigilance.
Brig-Gen. Chris Olukolade said that at present time it is not possible
to give the genuine numbers of the dead fighters for operational
and strategic reasons. The casualties numbers will be given at the
befitting time, except in a situation where it can positively affect the
infantry. The same with the genuine number of the terrorist but I
can notify you that thousands of them have been killed,” he
confirmed.
