Business activities were, Saturday, paralyzed at the Akanu-Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, although temporarily, as hundreds of Igbo youths, under the aegis of Igbo Progressive Union (IPU), embarked on a peaceful protest against the calls for the sack of Oduah over the controversial armoured cars.
The kinsmen of the embattled minister from Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State, led by High Chief George Nwabueze, also exonerated her from any wrong doing in the purchase of the cars. Nwabueze said that the target of those calling for the head of Oduah was President Goodluck Jonathan whose second term ambition in 2015 they have vowed to stop by all means.
The protesting young men and women, who carried placards with different inscriptions, accused an unnamed personality of being behind the calls for the removal of the minister, insisting that the intention was to stop Oduah from going ahead with her transformation agenda in the aviation sector.
The group, who spoke through their leader, Emeka Agbo, a student of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, said Igbo youths were prepared to go the whole hog in ensuring that their daughter was protected, expressing dismay that some highly placed individuals were determined to rubbish the achievements of the minister.
Meanwhile, a group under aegis of South East Progressive Assembly (SEPA) condemned the action of the protesters. And insisted that the aviation minister must resign honourably to avoid the wrath of tax payers of whom she used their money in purchasing the armoured bullet proof cars.
While addressing newsmen in Owerri the Imo state capital, the president of the South east progressive assembly Ebere Uzoukwa said the actions by the aviation minister showed that she’s not capable of running the affairs of the ministry and as such, she should resign and allow President Goodluck Jonathan to appoint capable hands from any other part of the country.

This protesters must be sick in the Head, which Change? which Aviation Sector?, they have decided to sell their God given conscience over a plate of food! A woman extravagantly spent such hugh amount of money and cannot give a good detailed account of its use! please with all due respect and all protocols being observed that woman has failed us and not worth to be called "A WOMAN OF VIRTUE" and "A TRUE IGBO WOMAN", She has to be sacked and probed, can u sit to think about the lives that perished from this sector from the past three years, i weep uncontrollably for the future and lives that are wasted! please we Igbos should at least live by example to show the world our virtues and abide by the Igbo adage That says "A good name is better than riches".
They are not sick in the head. They are partaking in the 'morally-deficient' political climate of our country. For example, the Northerners demanded for amnesty for terrorist and so on. Tribal consciousness is a major problem in Nigeria and it overrides every aspect of our political life. However, I do not support her at all, and I call for her resignation but on the second thought she has not stolen anything compared to her colleagues. There is an underhand at play to frustrate her out of office and that's what this youth are protesting. Well, the politicians calling for her resignation does not have the interest of Nigeria at heart, (including the culprit Mrs. Odua), they only identify with their tribe in matter like this to solicit for a support.
