speaking from experience ...
i slapped my boyfriend on good friday
he didn't talk to me for 2 whole weeks
that was my entire easter hols ruined!
cuz the guilt weighed on my mind
i apologised several times yet he kept
giving the cold shoulder, I guess i kinda deserved it
cuz his friends were there as well

That's my story ... (Slapping back is not the answer at all)
There are better/worse ways to react...
