The Joint Military Task Force in the Niger Delta, Operation Pulo Shield, has foiled a kidnap attempt on Mrs. Patience Agbani, another cousin of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The development came barely a few hours after Inengite Nitabai, Jonathan’s adopted father, was rescued by the police from kidnappers who had held him hostage for 18 days.

Agbani is said to be related to the mother of President Jonathan. She was reportedly trailed by her assailants at Akimpli, Ogbia Local Government Area about 11pm on Wednesday.

Agbani was said to be returning from her business when the hoodlums, numbering six, accosted her. Sighting them from a distance, the woman was said to have taken to her heels while her assailants pursued her.

The Media Coordinator, JTF, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, who confirmed the incident, said Agbani hid in an uncompleted building and called an official of the JTF in the area.

Nwachukwu said, “We foiled the kidnap attempt on the woman at Akimpli at about 11pm. She was returning from her business. But she was trailed by a group of men numbering about six.

“They pursued her, but good enough, she had the number of one of our men deployed in SETRACO in Ogbia. Our patrol team responded swiftly and they were able to prevent the kidnap,” he said. He said JTF was able to rescue the woman because  she called the outfit and provided it with useful information about her location.

“We were able to foil the attempt on the would-be victim because of the quality of information we got. People should assist JTF with useful information.”

Agbani, it was learnt, was taken to the Headquarters of the JTF in Yenagoa for debriefing.

Na waa for this country....

If you're poor.....you're screwed...
If you're rich......you're schemed..

If you're related to the rich.....you're a vulnerable bold target.

This is what happens when you pay kidnapper's ransom at the back and come out to say the police rescued the victim. The kidnappers will come back because business is good for them. They know if they kidnap another person, you will come behind to pay again and say it was the police the rescued the victim again.Who is fooling who.
