The pilgrims in EYN church, Maiduguri received a call from Rev (Dr) Titus Pona, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, with an urge to pray for peace right before they embarked no the Holy Pilgrimage exercise.
Pona urged the pilgrims to thank God for Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, for the National Chrtistian Pilgrims Commission and for Governor Kashim Shettima for ensuring they are able to perform pilgrimage this year, despite all odds and obstacles.
He also asked the pilgrims to pray for Borno State, that is currently suffering from numerous attacks by insurgents.
Pona repeatedly told them that prayers at Holy Land will ensure that God will intervene and restore the peace in the State.
Pilgrims were urged to be a good example of the ambassadors of Christ and Nigeria while they remain in the Holy Land, to glorify God and to represent Nigeria in a positive way.
The buses for the journey were provided by the government, and they are to take pilgrims to Yola and then they will fly to Jerusalem to begin the pilgrimage exercise.
