A 19-year-old Nigerian girl (names withheld) has told a Federal High Court in Lagos how she was lured into prostitution in Burkina Faso.
According to the teenager, she was working as a sales girl in Victoria Island, Lagos before two middle-aged men told her they could help her find a better job abroad.
Police investigations revealed that the two men, Christian Awanebi and Ariwayo Olowede, who pleaded not guilty, allegedly took her to Burkina Faso sometime in 2011.
Mrs Anthonia Mgbemeje of the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), who led the girl in evidence, said the men promised to help the girl get a job in a super store as a sales girl.
It was further revealed that on getting to Burkina Faso, the teenager was allegedly made to have s*x with men so she could repay N200, 000, the men claimed to have spent on her travel expenses.
According to her, she had s*x with over 10 men daily, charging an equivalent of N5,000 per person.
She said the men allegedly made her take a blood covenant, swearing not to tell anyone about her ordeal.
Lawyer to the accused persons, Mr Mac Johnson asked the court to adjourn the case for cross-examination of the girl.
And Justice Saliu Saidu adjourned the case till April 10 for continuation of trial.
Common sense is indeed not common.

Women are naturally intuitve. There's always this feeling at the back of their minds which tells them that all is not well when there is trouble in the offing. Some just choose to ignore it to their own detriment...

i think the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) needs to visit all the west african countries oh. they need to see what our teenagers are doing there. so many of them are been trafficked to these countries for prostitution every blessed day.

That is exactly what those bastard are doing with our girls just because of their own selfish interest, Burkina-Faso, &all other West African countries are all transits their main destination is either Spain or Italy, cursed people.
