Nigerian music star Rema has been honoured with a certificate of recognition by the Mayor of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, for his global influence and promotion of African culture through music.
According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by DebutHub on Wednesday, the mayor praised Rema for the joy he brings to people and his role in championing Afrobeat across the world.
The certificate reads: “In recognition of his global influence and ability to bring joy to people in Boston and beyond, we honor Rema for championing Afrobeat and promoting African culture worldwide.
“His music resonates across continents while preserving the spirit of Africa both in Boston and beyond, Rema continues to inspire by proudly representing the richness of African identity and creativity. On behalf of the City of Boston, we extend our sincere congratulations.”
This latest recognition adds to Rema’s growing list of international accolades as he continues to represent Africa on the global stage.
