Some Jehovah’s Witnesses have lamented the prohibition on marrying Christians of other denominations, including Catholics, Anglicans, Baptists and members of all Pentecostal churches, among others. The church declared that their members must stop marrying non-members, as it is seen as immoral and contrary to their teachings. Anyone who disobeys and marries outside the congregation would face serious sanctions in the form of excommunication and treating as a non-member. According to PM News, many of the members, especially the unmarried ones, expressed concerns on this restriction. Many of them could not marry on time or are forced to marry spouses they are not compartible with in the church. However, a senior teacher of the church, Elder James Etop, said that the decision was taken in line with Biblical injunction and members of the church have obligation to comply with it or not. He also noted there was some kind of misunderstanding. All the church will do, in case Jehovah’s Witnesses marries an outsider, is shunning such a wedding and will not honour the union. Etop explained that the move is targeted to protect the members’ faith of being affected. He said there are many contradictions between the teachings of Jehovah’s Witness and other churches, including issues about heaven and hell fire. The teacher of the church reminded that Christians believe that when they die, they would go to heaven contrary to the teaching of Witness, who believes that Earth is the paradise they would inherit when they die. The reactions from some leaders of other churches on the marriage restriction were mainly negative. They said such teaching and methods are strange, turn the Bible upside down. Dont follow religion, fellow Christ, because honestly the Church can lead you astray. I can imagine someone being new to Christianity, and going to one church to be told something and going to another to be told something else, who should they believe? Its confusing, hence I advise people not to be religious fanatics and conform to anything the Church says, just listen to the Bible, and God would speak to you.

First of all "I'm a Muslim" The problem is that most of the Christians nowadays doesn't know their book (Bible) and conveniently choose to live with their HEAD instead of following what they believed to be a guidance from the all-knowing and all-wise (God).... if you read according to book of (Nehemiah 13:25-26) it says...
25 And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
Since you guys differed in so many things, i think they have full right to condemn the act of marring someone out of their group and to me their POINT CARRY'S MORE WEIGHT then critic's because it is biblical..

Even in matters that concern God, some people in this forum still insult others. A Muslim man just quoted from the Bible which someone profess to adhere to, he is insulting the Muslim man. what he quote isn't from Quran but from the Bible u read. what are some humans turning into? For those who don't take time to read b/w the lines, the Elder of the congregation just said; "....that the decision was taken in line with Biblical injunction and members of the church have obligation to comply with it or not" He just said, its a matter of choice but still that it would be proper and spiritually healthy if a member marry a mate from same faith to keep both mate's spirituality even stronger. If i am a Catholic for instance and i practice a faith different from someone who is Anglican, how will the marriage stand? while my wife is practicing this, am practicing that? different opinion, diff viewpoint, diff faith and diff almost everything. when we have kids, which side will they belong? So marrying from a other faith is a question of choice not by faith..members who follow such do so cos they know its healthy for them. World any of you here marry a man or woman so strict and adherent on Buddhism, a faith totally diff from yours? Search your conscience!
