The Portuguese coach is still seething after last weekend's loss to Sunderland and now his Blues must take on a side with great momentum after an eighth successive win in La Liga.

The Portuguese cut a frustrated figure as he witnessed his Blues side lose ground in the Premier League title race in a 2-1 setback to Sunderland on Saturday, a defeat that saw his 77-match unbeaten league run at Stamford Bridge come to an end.

Nevertheless, victory will not come easy in today's semi-final first-leg encounter at the Vicente Calderon by 8:45, against an Atleti side that refuse to relinquish their grasp on top spot in La Liga.

Diego Simeone's men have won eight straight matches in the Spanish top flight in what has been a superb campaign and remain favourites to dethrone reigning champions Barcelona.

Who do you think will carry the day?

Atletico 0-0 Chelsea: Jose Mourinho masterminds Madrid stalemate but Blues suffer injuries blows to both John Terry and Petr Cech in feisty Champions League affair

There will be a lot of guff about the enemies of football bandied about after this, so let’s cut to the chase. If David Moyes could have pulled off a performance or two like this in Europe this season — or even away at Manchester City or Liverpool — he would have been hailed as a tactical genius.

Dull football is only truly dull when it fails. A goalless draw away from home to the best team in La Liga isn’t truly dull.

Would Chelsea win La Liga? No. Then are Atletico Madrid a better team than Chelsea right now? Yes.

So do Chelsea have any realistic hope of coming to the Vicente Calderon stadium and playing Atletico Madrid off the park with attacking, cavalier football? No.

So do they have to find a way to get them back to Stamford Bridge and win there? Yes. And that is exactly what they did. If Manchester United were in Chelsea’s position in the Champions League right now, Moyes would still be in a job. Fact.

Chelsea had a great game against Atlético Madrid with
7-2...1 formation. Am sure Chelsea go  park  bus again in London.

Chelsea's CL semi-final scores under Mourinho: 0-0, 0-1, 1-0, 0-1, 0-0. 1 goal scored in 570mins (inc extra time)

With this stats i don't see Chelsea making it to the final cuz Atlético Madrid must score in London if Chelsea come out to play.
