This is how the so called biafrians use to betray themselves ,have u see any hausa organizing a protest? no because they know the game they are playing . stupid biafrians when will they learn.

You are just being selective….this has nothing to do with Biafra
…..but 300 children kidnapped. Don’t you feel sorry or have feelings for them?

Oby Ezekwesili is not the only leading figure in this protest….
….you also have civil rights activist, Jibrin Ibrahim and others from all tribes.

if this woman has been so vocal during the killing of IGBOS in the north, the BOKO HARAM issue wouldn't have arise in this country.

*** ‘It is an inquiry, not probe’

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, yesterday said it was not probing the embattled former General Officer Commanding, GOC, Nigerian Army 7 Division, Maiduguri, Borno State, Maj-Gen Abubakar Mohammed over the alleged mutiny in the command.

National Mirror had last Friday, reported that the whereabouts of the embattled GOC was presently unknown and that the Nigerian Army was allegedly shielding him from being probed.

Soldiers in Maimalari Barracks in April fired gunshots at the former GOC for allegedly giving wrong orders that led to the death of their colleagues and that he was not attending to their welfare.

After the incident, DHQ set up a military board of inquiry to unravel the circumstances that led to the mutiny.

The military authorities immediately removed the GOC and had told the media that probe into the incident was ongoing.

Cameroun Troops Kill 40 Boko Haram Insurgents-kidnapped Italian, Canadian Freed
*** Kidnapped Italian priests, Canadian nun freed

About 40 members of the Boko Haram insurgents have been killed by Cameroun security forces shortly after the release of two Italian priests and a Canadian nun suspected to have been held by the dreaded group.

A Presidency source confirmed that the clash between members of the sect and security operatives took place in Kousseri, a border town between Nigeria and Chad.

Cameroun, which has been criticised by Nigeria for not doing enough to fight the sect, deployed 1,000 troops to the far north last week as it steps up the fight against the Islamist militants.

Meanwhile, two Italian priests and a Canadian nun kidnapped in northern Cameroon nearly two months ago by suspected Boko Haram gunmen were released yesterday.

They were smiling and apparently in good health as they arrived in Yaounde, the capital.

Giampaolo Marta and Gianantonio Allegri, missionaries from the diocese of Vicenza in north-east Italy, and Canadian Gilberte Bissiere were seized on the night of April 4 from the parish of Maroua, close to the border with Nigeria.

There has been no claim of responsibility for their kidnapping but Cameroonian officials have pointed the finger at Boko Haram.

State television showed images of the priests and the nun arriving at Yaounde airport yesterday in the company of heavily armed Camerounian Special Forces.

New CBN gov, Emefiele, assumes duty tomorrow
The new governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, will tomorrow take over the affairs of the apex regulatory bank at the start of a five-year term.

The erstwhile Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, assumes office following the expiration of the controversial term of the suspended CBN governor, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, whose tenure expires on June 2.

The new CBN Governor will be saddled with the onerous task of keeping monetary policy in sync with the government’s fiscal policies.

He is expected to adopt a less controversial stance on issues compared with the highly vocal Sanusi.

Analysts said the most pressing challenge the new helmsman would be contending with was determining the appropriate naira exchange rate while maintaining a robust external reserves position.

During his screening before the Senate in March, Emefiele had pledged his commitment to monetary stability.

Lagos civil servants get N119m housing loan

The Lagos State Government has disbursed about N119.7m as housing loans to its workers to enable them find a permanent solution to their accommodation problems.

Head of Service, HoS, Mrs. Oluseyi Williams, who disclosed this at a press briefing, said a total of 555 officers benefited from the facility within the period of one year.

According to her, the loan was to enable the beneficiaries acquire land and build their own houses.

Williams said the government had also allocated apartments to some workers at the various staff quarters to ease their accommodation problems.

She said no fewer than 100 brand new cars were procured for the use of directors in the state`s civil service within the period, adding that the government was passionate about the welfare of its workforce and would continue to initiate programmes that would guarantee their comfort in service.

The HoS also pointed out that no fewer than 5,000 secondary school students were engaged for two months during the period for holiday jobs, even as she explained that the objective was to engage the students meaningfully.

On employment embargo in the state, she said the state public service was not a full one.

She said within the last one year, the state government had employed 2,589 staff into the internal auditor cadre, the teaching service, medical service, amongst others, as special areas of dire need to render service to the general public.

Lafarge flays new SON regulation on cement
Lafarge Nigeria has condemned the procedures adopted by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON in adopting the new cement regulation in the country.

It stressed that what is needed to address the issue of wrong cement application in the country was proper and detailed product labelling by manufacturers.

SON recently announced that the 32.5 grade cement was unsuitable for all applications except for plastering, while the 42.5 grade cement must be used for casting of columns, beams, slabs and for moulding blocks, and the 52.5 grade cement was made mandatory for use in only heavy construction and bridge building.

The company, speaking through its General Manager Industrial Performance, Lanre Opakunle specifi cally noted that the build-up discussion by stakeholders prior to the announcement of the new standards by SON were actually inconclusive.

“SON did not follow due process in revising cement standards. Part of the deliberations on issues concerning the review of cement standards and the discussions were inconclusive. We discovered that the labelling is not adequate today and we made some proposals but those proposals have not been taken on-board but we will keep making efforts to see that they are taken on-board,” he said.

He disclosed that there was a part on labelling which they highlighted a lot at the deliberations because sometimes people could be naive despite their level of education as right labelling would help to ensure that people have the right information out there at their disposal with the burden on the professionals to do their job as it was the duty of manufacturers to inform the consumers about what their products can be used for.
