muyi4real at 12-09-2009 08:47 PM (15 years ago) (m) well this world of ours is full of various happening but i believe that those with faith we see that it doesn't matter when you're in depression all you need is to remain courageous and let your worries to be known to your creator. As for the A.S.U & FED. GOV i believed that the present minister of Edu. is a retarded being ever on earth if they need to resolve issues on ground he need not to call our Lecturers, A.S.U among others name, and compare them with other Educational Union / Par. Uzzy at 12-09-2009 11:29 PM (15 years ago) (f) Ilorin - A 200-level student of the University of Ilorin, Mr Kazeem Adekeye, yesterday in Ilorin, committed suicide. His lifeless body was discovered hanging on the Oyun Bridge.
The deceased, who was a student in the department of religious studies, according to Vanguard investigation, was with his friends in Zango area of Ilorin where he was residing till the late hours of Wednesday, cracking jokes with them after breaking his fast.
One of the sympathisers, who pleaded anonymity, in an interview said the late Kazeem did not give any sign or impression that anything was wrong that could have forced him to terminate his own life.
“Nothing was wrong with him. He was okay. There was no problem that could have forced him to hang himself as much as I know. I can’t understand this.
This is unbelievable,” he stressed.
Kazeem apparently tied a strong rope on the bridge iron bar before tying the other end of the same rope on his own neck and then jumped, thereby forcing the rope to jerk his neck. He apparently died writhing in pains, hanging loosely on the bridge. The men of Kwara State Police Command later removed his corpse from the bridge.
The spokesman for the command, ASP Dabo Ezekiel, who confirmed the incident in an interview, explained that Police have commenced investigation into the ugly incident.
He said the corpse has been deposited at the UNILORIN Teaching Hospital COULD IT BE STRESS AS A RESULT OF THE STRIKE? .................whatever, i see that as a very stupid and foolish act! W.J

...Come to think of it, Unilorin isn't affected by the said ASUU strike... I humbly urge the police to unravel the situation, as the case might seem almost impossible to identify. I wonder if any1 is thinking in my "way of reasoning".... Some people might be behind the poor lad's tragedy and made it look more like a suicide! May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, and May Allah(s.w.t) forgive him of his sins..... Amin! Posted: at 13-09-2009 10:49 AM (15 years ago) | Newbie

I suspect foul play as well. His friends testify that he was not depressed and had fun with them and never mentioned to any of them there was a problem. I think a proper investigation needs to happen here as well. Posted: at 13-09-2009 01:37 PM (15 years ago) | Upcoming

I suspect this as murder. I think one of the posters also indicated that Illorin is not on strike. Nobody has seen him depressed. Before people commit suicide they usually discuss it with their friends over and over before they do it. They will have strange behaviours like giving away all their things to their friends and families. Posted: at 13-09-2009 01:43 PM (15 years ago) | Upcoming
