why not? once you marry his daughter dont u automatically become his son too?

I recently gave this same advice to a friend in Dec. He wanted to go to Med sch but his parents cant afford it. His father inlaw promised him that if he went to his wife sch (the wife is going to med sch too) he will foot his bills. My friend rejected it until he told me.....what i asked him was, if his dad made such offer to his wife but the wife rejected it, how would he feel? he said bad...so thats how his wife must have been feeling since the day he rejected her father's support too.....
