After losing their opening match of the 2014 World Cup to Brazil, all that Croatia's players wanted to do was relax at their hotel pool in the Nood. Sadly, the privacy of the pants-less pool party at their Praia do Forte base was compromised by two Croatian photographers, who hid in the bushes and took pictures that have now been published online. And now, the players are refusing to talk to World Cup reporters. Their coach, Niko Kovac, who is currently very pissed off at the incident told reporters: I can’t force them to be at your disposal after what you have done to them and their families. How would you feel if someone took naked pictures of you? They are adamant that they won’t speak to you lot any more and I don’t know whether the silence will end tomorrow or last until the end of our World Cup campaign. I respect my players’ opinion and I also know that you have done a very professional job so far but you blew it with this one. The whole world has seen the photos.” The photos were taken while the footballers were swimming in a pool after their loss to Brazil. This reminds me of the movie 300, where one of Xerxes spies/scouts reported back that he had seen vain Spartan soldiers bathing and preening themselves on the eve of battle. Xerxes laughed at this news, but a Spartan in his service heard it and understood and he explained to Xerxes: The warriors were Spartans, ritualistically preparing to die.
