Ray Rice Fired After Domestic Assault On Wife Video Was Released

The NFL's Baltimore Ravens have terminated the contract of their star running back Ray Rice, after the release of a video which showed him striking his then fiancée, now wife. The video released by TMZ Sports showed Rice arguing with Janay Palmer inside a lift in an Atlantic City casino. The couple hit each other before Rice punched Ms Palmer in the face and knocked her out. Another video released earlier showed Rice dragging Ms Palmer from the lift. In July, the NFL suspended the running back for two games after the earlier video was made public.



The Ravens' move comes during the first week of the NFL's season. On Sunday Baltimore, working without their star running back, lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 23-16. An NFL spokesman said he was not aware of the existence of the second video showing Rice striking Ms Palmer's face until Monday. A few hours later the team released a statement saying, "The Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of RB Ray Rice this afternoon." Hope you have seen the videos? DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is rife in Nigeria. The wife is AFRAID to speak out in case she is laughed at by neighbours and "friends!" Even more disturbing is family members urging the woman to keep quiet and explaining they had gone through the same thing with their husbands and "survived."

Others BLAME the wife even  when ALL men from the husbands family ALSO maltreat their wife's. Maybe we can conclude these men saw their OWN mothers being beaten black and blue by their husbands and nothing being done about it - and so looked at it as ACCEPTABLE behaviour!!!!  Sad!
