As Nigeria enters its second decade of civilian rule facing myriad problems, the BBC's Focus on Africa magazine asks if the country is on its way to being a failed state

No Nigeria is not yet a failed state. The only problem with Nigeria, is unprepared, poor and bad leaders. All those who have ruled Nigeria are dealers not leaders. Most of Nigerian politicians, had no day jobs before they entered politics. Politics in Nigeria, has been turned to big business and big business attracts the mafia and other types of criminals. The only political players in Nigeria are those who engage in do or die politics. They are prepared to go to any length to take power, even assassinations, murder, cultism, etc. For this reason no decent person, with good reputation, wants to engage in Nigerian politics. It was confirmed by one of the Senators, Senator Aliu a former AIG and he was in charge of criminal investigation, before venturing into politics. He said it in public that, he had personally investigated a lot of his colleagues, for serious criminal offences when he was a police chief. This mater was swept under the carpet by the Senate and the House of Representatives. We have not heard about it again.

yes nigeria is a failed state, under the study of military strategy and international relation and conflict resolution, it is believed that in a situation of chaos where nation does not have anymore the altimate and exclusive use of military force i.e weapons, the state may best be described as a failed state and as off now nigeria can not be said to be better than countries like somalia, sirilanka, pakistan, and afghanistan, to be honest iraq has better chances of being classified as a standing and existing state.

NIGERIA, to be frank and candid, IS A FAILED STATE!  Never mind that some may be afraid to admit it. Those who argue otherwise certanly do not have anything to give as evidence of proof that Nigeria state is a success. At best,Nigerian is not more than a geographic entity, incredibly populatedby different peoples suffering and smilling only with lips which often mask the inner bitternes and frustrations that is deep down. i want to let u know that nigerian problem is not religion, but tribalism; which the blood thirsty Hausa-Fulani with some few yoruba cohorts, have infused into their children. i urge that u ask ur father to tell u the truth about the genesis of nigerian problems. believe me, if he is sincere to himself, he will reveal to u that the gensis of it all is from "jelousy". the easterners were prospering too rapidly- in the economy, business, politics, education, military,etc...ibos being at the centre of prosperity in the oil rich east. but if ur father refuses to tell u the truth, go the library or bookshops in nigeria, ask them of the book entitled "Why We Struck", an eye witness account written by a yorubaman. Otherwise, tell ur brother Yaradoua that the cosmetic or fire brigade approach of "amnesty to the MOSOP" is as hypocitic as it is cowardly.and can never stop agitation for fairness in the disbursement of Nigeria oil revenue, etc. There is a time bomb which will surely explode if the nigerian people continue suffering in the midst of petro-dollar plenty.once upon a world, i know what it means to be a citizen of an oil rich country...to be a libyan, algerian, saoudi arabian, venezuellan, quatarian, baharian, iranian, united arab emiratian,etc...govt there provide every of their need according to their oil riches in quantom. housing, free education,jobs,etc/ r available. In Nigerian, the real monster is tribalism which is the brain child of jealousy. tribalism brings about "winner takes it all " syndrome in our polity. that in turn brings about corruption. this as we all know has a far reaching cylic effects which vary from social to economic...thats why we find ourselves where we are at present. Why is the so called minorty tribes regarded as second class citizens? Why so much cruel hatred against the ibo tribe? Why are calabar, ijaws, ogonis, benis, etc treated with so much contempt in their own country? Why does an average Hausa man treat/regard a man from Republic of Niger more like his brother than his fellow country man from Yoruba, ibo, or any other tribes in Nigeria? Why is there free education in other parts of Nigeria and not in the eastern part of Nigeria? Why is there so many injustices in the country? Ojukwu is a great man. So also is Ken Saro wiwa, Gani Fahwemi, Tai Solarin, Wole soyinka, Dele Giwa, etc. of course the list is very long...Though Nigeria is a failed state, it must be admitted aqually  that SHE HAS NOT FAILED BEYOND RECOVERY,nothing is impossible toGod. Read the bible about the valey of dry bones in the bookof Jeremaiah, God Almighty says that  the "dry bones shall rise again"...i doff my cap to Nigerian University students, especially those of the UNN, UNIPORT,UNILAG,UNIBEN,OAU,Ahmadu BelloUniversity, etc. the future of the nation is in ur hands, u have all it takes to bring about the Nigeria of our dream. We Nigerians abroad have a very high expectation of you guys!!

we are still hanging on a thread as all the symthons of failed states can be found here. i believe its only  the grace of God that has kept us together this far and for the almighty to keep sustaining us we have to do our part by convoking a soveriegn national conference for the diverse ethnic nationalities to agree on how be part of state and also to speedily adopt the uwais electoral report so that we can  be able to chase out those criminals that oppress us with their ill gotten wealth. GOD BLESS NAIJA.

'What has befall Nigeria?..OKAY lets think this way first. (a) We need to find peace and upgrade our BILATERAL RELATIONSHIP.(b) While the North where seeking for Islamic state and making the country more insecure then we need to adapt with the formal system of government which the British colonial left by - let the 3 (three) ethnic group in Nigeria choose the best government suitable for them and in all Igbo,Yoruba and Housa will have one prime minister that will answer to the needs of each three region " as you can see the map of Nigeria how river Benue and river Niger made a natural boundary= if i am to choose let IGBO'S TAKE- Anarchy or anarchism - No rulers. A social order built through free and equal association.

LET HOUSA'S TAKE-Autocracy, oligarchy, etc. - A small ruling class. A social order marked by violence and hierarchies.

LET YORUBA'S TAKE -Democracy - Any of several systems partway between anarchism and autocracy. These may involve indirect representation, direct voting, or consensus. Indirect representation tends to come closest to autocracy, and consensus tends to come closest to anarchism...AND THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE ELECTION FOR A TENURE OF 5 FIVE YEAR'S WHICH THE PRIME MINISTER WILL BE EQUAL TO THE SAME MINISTERS OF THE 3 THREE ETHNIC GROUPS...LET EVERY REGION BEAR ACCOUNT OF THERE PROBLEM'S..OR NIGERIA WILL SPLIT !!!
