If the decision to stay at home is mine. Or she quit her job in a different location in order to be with me then,I am obliged to put her on salary. If the decision is not mine, she will receive money as the need arises and hustle for jobs like every other person out there. I have observe that some women are hardworking while others are so lazy that once that salary keeps coming she will be reluctant to work and will never make good efforts at securing something. Women Empowerment champions are pushing it too far. Did her parents pay her salary as a job seeker? Did she not perform all domestic responsibilities: preparing food for parents, doing the laundry and cleaning the house. If the man pays her for her contributions to the family, how much does she pay the man for the hard day toil, for the housing he provides, the food he provides, for the clothing he provides. Upkeep money is just appropriate....no fixed amount, no fixed interval, Should be as the need arise for various months or weeks.

This is not meant in any way as an insult on women or to discredit women. I hold women in high regards and have utmost respect for them (especially those that are able to hold a man down).
But you have asked an economical question and it should be answered economically (in terms of economical gains or loss) and totally devoid of emotions.
Put her on a salary after buying her?
If it was a "rent a wife" I'd support putting her on a salary.
But here in Nigeria (especially some parts) where the woman is practically sold out to you depending on her educational background, family status, course studied, complexion, institution attended, number of family members etc all divided by your bargaining power.
It is just for the fear of God that the women are not treated as slaves by their husbands after being sold out as slaves by their families.
I just don't see why I should put you on a salary after buying you. Its not done that way.

The way you approach issues shows how civil or how well brought up you are.
I have just expressed my opinion with proof and examples. You can as well address the issue at hand with your own proof rather than attack my person.
I wouldn't have bothered to acknowledge your outburst with a response but I feel you do it because no one has told you it's wrong or taught you to act otherwise.
This is part of the problems facing this country today. When out so called educated men and women think arguing is all about throwing insults back and forth and the winner is the person that is considered to have thrown the most insult (we can even see it in our political class)
This is a public forum where everyone is allowed to air their views and stand to be supported or corrected constructively like matured and educated people.
That's the only way we can learn from each other.
So far, I haven't learnt anything from you and I wouldn't send my child or any younger one to learn from you
